By now, everyone has seen the Missing in Action post about Hollywood’s most notorious peace-niks. (Link via Syd in the Readers Tips.)
You may also have read Ed Asner explaining why.

I find that answer utterly gratifying.
The Syrian vote is going to fail. There’s no going back now. The President has no respect in the world now and won’t lose any more when Congress slaps him down. It was the people who stopped it. Congress has been flooded with communications and if lawmakers vote their constituents wishes as opposed to a whipped vote, any Congressionally approved Syrian war is done.
The activist actors accomplished nothing in the last ten years except to silence themselves. They, on their career soapboxes, defined the Tea Party, Romney, the evils of conservatives. They used racism as the de facto root cause of criticism of Obama.
Now their hands are tied by their own ill-concieved and misguided beliefs. They have been revealed as the partisan hypocrites we always knew they were. Looks good on them.
What is the worst thing to do to an actor? Take away their voice. Best thing? We didn’t do it to them.

  3. You’re right, lance, the “let’s pretend” crowd who achieved all of their fame and fortune and influence by reciting lines written by people smarter than themselves have shut themselves up. If you close your eyes you can almost see the confused look and the furrowed brows of Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, etc., as they lose their religion.
    I’m sure someone’s working on a script for them, though, so they can get their voices back.

    Now that the “actors” have been silenced how about making them poor, I refuse to watch the trash produced by these morons, I have not seen a movie since I bought the Atlas Shrugged DVD that movie was independently financed, profits did not go to the usual Hollywood leftists. I don’t think I have been culturally deprived. Starve the communist morons.

    Ignore who they are or in support of who they are, its all lies to keep them in the spotlight so they can spit venom at their only true enemy, white right wingers, because we all know the black ones don’t exist at all..
    The great pretenders are politically sick with a severe case of hypocrisy.. The symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting at the same time.. If its not treated with honesty and integrity the patient will dehydrate and politically die..
    In America the left is painfully aware of this overreach and will send out Hillary to take the fall against any Republican stuffed shirt.. This will allow them to be offended that women’s rights have been violated, in effect changing the conversation and rallying the morons for a new tomorrow..

  11. Easy solution for the Hollywood set. Protest the war against Obama’s white half.
    What a bunch of Buffoons…..how they “look” outweighs their belief system, or did they really believe what they were protesting in the first place. Perhaps when they were protesting Bush, they were channelling their Viet Nam-protest-days and probably thought they could get laid as a result. Now they are just too effin’ old to both get it up or care.

  15. They’ve been told to hold their tongues by their Hollywood paymasters, mostly arms of the mainstream media companies who supported Obama almost to a shareholder. Talk out of turn about Obama, they’ve been told, and you’ll never work in this town again.
    As waiting tables and pumping gas won’t service their huge debts to the bank and to their drug dealers—and left to their own devices that’s all else most of them could do—they are doing exactly what they are told.
    In the end, it won’t matter. East Germany, I hear, is full of washed-up actors that were stars in the GDR and never worked again after the Wall came down. This shower isn’t far behind.

  18. Now if only the Americans could have an honest election where identification is needed to vote in EVERY state and then the democrats can’t vote more than once. Remember, Obama got fewer votes in this election than McCain got in the election before. And that was with all the voter fraud by his useful idiots!

You have to wonder if these pompous self-important aholes have enough reason left to have an epiphany about judging the quality of a leader simply by his skin color, that perhaps elections do have consequences and if you vote with superficial values you can end up with a fraud/gangster who will lead you into WWIII for his own ego.
    Obviously the morbidly stupid PC disciples fear transgressing the psychotic PC values more than they fear turning the nation into a cinder with bad political choices/alliances.

  28. There was a time when Congress would have backed the President on this type of military attack. Not now, bipartisanship is dead; it’s both parties’ fault – they’ve been at each others’ throats since the Clinton era, back and forth. The GOP lite set aren’t going to save this one for Obama. I don’t think the rank and file Dems have their heart in this one anyway.
    The blame game is now SOP, where every presidential failure or misstep is somebody, anybody, else’s fault, where memes like motherhood statements about stopping terrorism become definitional rather than speaking tours blaming an obscure video; where Susan Rice has any credibility whatsoever (none), where Kerry or Biden, or even McCain, have any wisdom or leverage to bring into the congressional debate (never did).
    It seems like the GOPs in the House of Representatives would like nothing better than reject Obama on this vote, and if so have picked a pretty good issue with widespread American rejection of attacking Syria. Maybe it spells an end to the mindless argument that one must back the President for the sake of patriotism and anti-racism, regardless of yours, or your constituents’ views.
