Let Them Smoke Fentanyl

CTV;

The federal health minister says she is looking into legislation that would permanently ban the sale of tobacco products to anyone born after 2008.

Speaking on Parliament Hill Tuesday, Majorie Michel was asked if Canada would consider legislation similar to the United Kingdom’s recently proposed bill that aims to reduce the use of cigarettes and vapes for young people.

“I am looking into it right now,” she told reporters. “We saw what the U.K. did, but I am looking into it with all partners for now.”

    1. Marijuana is … natural … unlike BIG Tobacco who installs formaldehyde in their cigarettes. I know, because I saw an ad on TV that told me so.

And isn’t it FAR past due that ALL tobacco products be banned. We need to ban anything and everything that can KILL you! Right? The government needs to keep us SAFE. And we should all be smoking marijuana … because it’s medicine! Heap big medicine. Like mushrooms and peyote.

      1. “And we should all be smoking marijuana … because it’s medicine! Heap big medicine. Like mushrooms and peyote.”

If you think the weed legalization was a bad idea, just you wait until the magic mushrooms hit the recreational market. Holy mother of pearl. (I know nothing of peyote beyond skimming Carlos Castaneda in the 1970s, but I think it might not be good. As in, ++ ungood.)

Say what you want about teh cannabis, even the most ridiculously massive dose wears off in 6-12 hours, and you can smoke yourself unconscious without dying. The same cannot really be said of the shrooms. Take a little, it’ll probably be ok. Probably. Take a lot? Mmmmaybe not. Two weeks in the hospital to detox and unscramble your brain, good possibility of permanent brain damage/alteration. And not in a good way. More in the ‘needs help to use the bathroom’ sort of way.

But this is still small beer on the badness scale. There’s all sorts of sh1t on the street these days that is guaranteed to make you into a vegetable if it doesn’t k1ll you immediately. Nobody in power seems too concerned about it, I must say. Almost as if they were doing it on purpose.

    2. After seeing someone psychotic on public transit who stank from weed, I went onto some of the “stores” websites and was shocked to see “concentrates” with over, sometimes well over, 60% delta-9-THC and some with all the cannabanoids (CBD), known to have anti-psychotic effects to counter the THC for those vulnerable to that.

It appeared that the government isn’t limiting the THC content, only who is allowed to produce it.

  1. I can’t help noticing that Canada has recently and consistently been molding all facets of government positions and legislation to line up, almost, completely with UK and EU doctrine. Green policies, health policies, immigration policy, agricultural policies.

I mention this because when CETA was last before both parties there were years of delay because France refused to agree to terms as the policies mentioned above didn’t exactly match their own. A warning. If all of a sudden Canada starts adapting their legal system in any capacity to better match up with the EU…then get ready for both sides to suggest that Canada is an unofficial member of the European Union. It would merely take a quick change or ignoring of the EU bylaws (which they do routinely out of expedience) and the labling of “unofficial” so as to circumvent or cloud the Monroe Doctrine (arguably a difficult doctrine to enforce).

    1. Before BC starts re-writing all their statutes and regulations to conform to the EU, they have to re-write them to conform to DRIPA. Decades at best. Maybe we’ll catch a break and the indians will say no to the EU.

      1. I suspect the carrot they are going to wave before BC and Alberta (as well) is an exclusive agreement to provide the EU and UK with energy resources allowing them to circumvent Russia and US so that, both, the EU and Canada can gain leverage on trade positions.

  2. FILTHY LIBERALS

I look forward to the “Safe Supply Sites” that Government will set up. Smokers will end up getting Free Smokes! Beauty eh?

  3. I hear the Brits called their law “The No Fags Law”
I’m not against keeping fags away from kids.

  4. First Nations included in that, right? We wouldn’t want a two tier justice system…

    1. No worries Pappy, you’ll still be able to get illegal smokes on the reserve. They’ll just be more illegal, that’s all.

And of course the smugglers will make even more money…

  5. Not against stopping kids from smoking, but as both Australia and NZ have found, do too much and Tobacco smuggling goes through the roof.

    1. That, and kids will just get an older sibling or friend to buy the lung busters for them. That’s how most underage kids get booze. My buds and I did it all the time way back when.

  6. skill testing Q: did the Prohibition experience vanish from history?
this is so spectacularly bizarre, l need confirmation, the proposal is those born AFTER 2008 in Canaduh, will
never for their entire life be permitted to smoke tobacky? ever? buuuuuuut weed is a-ok?
    what . . . . . . . . the . . . . . . . . . hell?
p.s. yo, Elbozos, is THIS what you wanted? because THIS is what you voted for.

    1. “…did the Prohibition experience vanish from history?”

No, the mobsters took over the government. They know how much money there is in smuggling if they ban smokes, and they want that money.

Remember, when you see a government doing something like this, it’s not stupidity. It’s a scam.

  7. My name is Fenton, and drugs make me ill. Were you talking about me just now?
