In the world of the enchanted media, unpopular poll numbers don’t exist.
Well that can’t be true, CNN tells us the glow is increasing and Obamassiah is more glorious than ever.

Right – and we are now at only +1. That’s the lowest it’s been; it’s hovering now, to move into the negatives, where the strongly disapprove will be more than the strongly approve. The transformation from double digit ratios at the start of Obama’s regime to single digit began in early March, barely a month and a half after he took office.
Oh, and Rasmussen is the top, most accurate polling site in the US. The MSM polls are at the bottom.
Notice the slope; the disapproval is positive, going up; the approval has been horizontal but is moving down.
Other numbers at Rasmussen:
56% ‘somewhat approve’ while 43% disapprove.
But, 69% say that Republicans in Congress are out of touch with their base.
41% are in favour of a govt run health care, while 44% are opposed.
And 66% are in favour of Chrysler bankruptcy rather than govt bailouts.
In other words, what we seem to be observing is a Congress, both Democrat and Republican, that is completely out of touch with the basic American population. It has transformed into a megalithic bureaucratic monstrosity in Washington, focused on issues quite alien to the majority.
The Democratic push to socialism, which began with Clinton’s ‘free mortgages’ and continued on when the Democrats took over Congress; the alienation of the ‘far-off’ wars no matter how just those wars were and are; and the seriously ignored assault on the middle class economy by the emerging middle classes of China and India – all were allowed to move in and take over Washington.
This alienation has enabled a ‘rogue government’ which is what I would define the Obama govt as..to rapidly move in, with its alien socialist agenda. This socialist agenda violates the premises of the Founding Fathers, violates the actual words and rules and premises of the Constitution, and weakens what has made America great – that focus on the work, rights and responsibilities and self-reliance, of the individual.
But, Americans aren’t about to give up their Constitution and their identity to a rogue agenda. Now, we’ll see how dirty the Obama regime will fight – against the American people.
Overall — 56% approve 43% disapprove

The only place I’ve seen these numbers are on Fox News, and now SDA. You’ll grow old and die before you see them broadcast by the usual suspects in the MSM.
No, from them, all you’ll hear is the big Zero’s approval numbers which sound decent, until you realize they’re actually worse the Dubya’s at the same time during his first term — another inconvenient fact the MSM won’t report.
“Rogue Government” — well said ET. Two words which nicely encapsulate the horror show taking place at the moment in Washington.

Obama’s popularity at 100 days is lower than Bush’s at 100 days. Bush at 100 days had an approval of 62%; Reagan had 67%, Nixon had 61% (Gallup, Washington Times).
His current approval/disapproval ratings of 56-43 (Rasmussen) shows how he has polarized the nation. But Obama’s strategies of control include internal polarization and squabbles. He’ll set it up so that the people fight themselves rather than him.
The next Tea Parties are scheduled for July 4th, and then, Sept 12th. Watch and see how Obama works to derail, belittle and denigrate them. Warning – he’s attacking the American people. Will they stand for such an action?

It spectacularly shows how out of touch liberals are regarding the history of conflicts and the complexity of decision-making at a time of war. This complexity, in my opinion, is understood by most people and they know that arguments to “spend our way out of recession” or “too big to fail” or “waterboarding is torture and cannot be used no matter what the consequences” don’t ring true or are at very least, much more complicated than the way they are presented. As a result, people are starting to question the great Obama.
I found the review of the history around the Bomb to be fascinating and very enlightening.
Only a matter of time before he’s neck and neck with Bush.

Obama’s President, even though he’s not allowed to be unless he’s proven to have been physically born inside American territory. So far, all he’s provided to us is a “registration of birth” document that only proves that his birth, wherever it actually physically occured, was registered in Hawaii.
So it’s obvious that even the Constitution doesn’t matter anymore to the American Establishment, who could, if they wanted, bring Bush back, ignoring the two-term limit, saying that anyone who mentions it is spewing garbage. They’ll create another Big Lie and make folks believe that what was the case, never was after all, and that we were just imagining it ’cause we were crazy or something…
We live in bizarre times in which nothing is what it seems anymore, and truth is stranger and even less believable than “conspiracy theories”.
Sunday afternoon, while semi listening to my sole weekly CBC program “The Antiques Road Show”, a blurb came on: “Later today, lyin’ from Vancouver, the Liberal Convention……”
When the punch line came back on again, it turned out to really be “live from Vancouver”.
So much for truth in advertising.
The shocking thing, though not surprising, is that few people are tepid about Obama. Most either detest him or adore him. In about equal numbers.

He (in my opinion) is also the most polarizing president in the history of the USA. It’s like a dark shadow is moving across the face of America. Pure evil.
john lewis – that ‘civil war’ is part of the Obama strategy of moving dissent away from him and into the population; he sets people against people.
He did this during the campaign with his introduction of race (eg. my white grandmother was afraid of big black men); and his pitting of the emotions of hope/change, a utopian sentimentalism vs the pragmatic emotions of war/fear. The latter, of course, was based in reality.
He is now dividing the people into ‘rich and poor’, yet another fiction. Obama is defining the middle class, which is the class of individual self-made entrepreneurs, as Evil. Their work ethic, he tells us, is greed. Anyone with an income over the arbitrary 250,000 per year obtains that income, not by merit and hard work. But by having the psychological aberration of ‘greed’.
He’s out to destroy this class, and give their money to ‘the poor’. The poor, presumably, lack this psychological neurosis and thus have no money. Obama does not enlighten us as to whether this victimized (he tell us) set of people have any psychological traumas of their own, such as sloth, envy, wrath, gluttony and a few not on the books – incompetence and sheer laziness.
Obama is a rogue candidate and administration, one without experience, honour, integrity and above all, without principles. The sheer abuse of power by both Democrat and Republicans in Congress set up a political elite totally isolated from the American mainstream and enabled him to slip in by the back door.
Quite naturally, Americans voted for ‘not the mainstream’. The facts therefore, that Obama wasn’t really ‘present’ in Senate and had done nothing, were all in his favour.
Americans were voting against Washington; against Congress; against this elite political Set.
But, Obama didn’t come in with what Americans want; namely, a return to basic core principles of the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. He’s come in, with a heavy hand, with a totally different agenda – and they don’t want it.
Now, Obama’s strategy has been to divide the people, and turn them into camps bitterly opposing each other. This diverts attention from his agenda.
Another strategy is to make people feel guilty for being ..whatever. Middle class. Or in the military. Or opposing abortion or immigration. No dissent is allowed. That was his DHS memo and his lynch mob hysteria over AIG. And his banking takeovers and so on.
Another key strategy he uses is Crisis Mode. This is where he claims apocalyptic futures, happening in the next 10 days, unless ‘you pass this bill’. He did this with his pork filled stimulus package and his budget.
How will he, Congress, and the Americans, deal with this enormous problem? A rogue administration, a Washington Congress isolated from the people. And, the people – who, primarily, want to be American. And that means, Constitutional. Free, independent, individual, and not entrapped within a socialist state.

I know what I’d like to see.
Maybe Hugo gave him a few pointers on how to orchestrate phony assassination attempts on himself whenever he needs to quell upcoming “opposition”. Remember the “danger to the pres from disaffected war veterans” rabbit they pulled out of a hat recently?

I advocate:
– not a third party. We’ve seen what that does in Canada. It enabled Chretien to remain in power, to use our taxpayer money to fund his election campaigns, to insert his corrupt deals..and so on.
– the Republicans should not pretend to be ‘Democrats on the Right’. We’ve seen what Red Tory does in Canada. So, Michael Steele’s appeal to ‘moderates’ is, I believe, incorrect.
– there is only one avenue open to the Republians. Focus on the Constitution, the Amendments and the Declaration of Independence. These principles ought to be the basic values of the Republican Party. That’s all that is needed – those principles. These will attract conservatives, genuine liberals, and moderates, because they are basic.
Now – anyone who, for example, objects to basic rules in these foundational documents, eg, Amendment 2 (guns) – goes to the Democrats. Other issues which are VALUES to be evaluated and thus, – such as abortion, etc..are to be decided by the different states (Tenth Amendment).
If they focus only on these basic issues, which outline the rights of the Republic and the rights of the States..they will attract people who are focused around basic issues. Not endless sophist debates over assumed rights. These debates will always go on – assign them to the Democrats. Stick to the Constitutional outline.
I’d also point out that the Declaration of Independence, in its list of actions carried out by George III, – include “He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our People, and eat out their substance’…
And ‘He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their acts of pretended Legislation’;

You would think by now everybody in the USA would have health insurance, 100 days is long enough.
The unflappable Voice has gotten himself into a corner: if the economy improves, he’ll lose his justification for government expansion; if it doesn’t, he’ll be blamed and crippled.
Either way, his glory will be a flash in the pan.

Interestingly, in the US election, Obama received about 53% of the popular vote* while McCain garnered almost 46%.
Gosh! Could this mean that the US still remains more or less divided on President Obama, with a slim margin in his favour?
* As opposed to Electoral College votes.
Its probably worse than this chart shows. My money says they prettied up the numbers bigtime using all the usual pollster stuff. Big polling is part of Big Media, and they are in the tank for The One all day long.
Much as I would like to think that this poll is accurate I’m not so sure that the American people aren’t getting exactly what they voted for. There now exists in America a critical mass that honestly believes there is nothing greater than self and that society as a whole serves no other purpose than to aid the individual to actualize true selfhood. The idea has been in the school system since at least the ’60s and now is the time coinciding as it does with a philosophically aligned black president who himself is extremely psychologically damaged.

Yes, I believe there will be a fight for control. That’s all I’m going to say on that though.
I have no idea what Obama’s true popularity is, but his popularity isn’t uniformly distributed across the country. From my experience,in the northeast he seems to be some god-like figure but go to Texas or Oklahoma and his name is basically a curse word (they hate intrusive government down there). These are generalizations, of course.
I just saw the world dumbest government official on 60 minutes. I terrorist who was released from Guantanamo was filmed getting into a gasoline tanker truck, driving off and exploding it in an Iraqi Military Base.

We should not cede this term to the CBC and its ilk. It is a stick to beat conservatives, most of whom, I believe, are quite moderate individuals. Compare the number of times you hear the term “Republican moderates” with the number of times you hear the term “Democratic moderates” in the media — Democrats, by MSM definition, are moderate, the rule, while Republican moderates are seen as the exception.
Tony Bennett is peachy keen on Obama. Interviewed at the Smithsonian when he was installing his painting of Duke Ellington, he said he loves everything Obama has done and hopes the American people get behind him and — get this — lets him do whatever he wants to do. I remember when the 4% GDP growth during the Bush years was a “jobless recovery”. Now the economy drops 6.1%, and the White House press corps doesn’t even ask Obama about it. A softball question asked by the New York Times’ hack was such a suck-job I think it even embarrassed Obama.

As the US economy turns into a European-style utopia, there will be a flight of capital, productive people and free enterprise….. to the last remaining sane country in the world:
Canada – the one country with a solid financial and banking foundation, whose taxes keep dropping, who still has the potential for balanced budgets (“stimulus” BS spending notwithstanding); and where the leader of the opposition isn’t far removed, ideologically, from the current PM.
I for one, will be looking with interest at the next American Revolution. I hope that the constitutional foundation of the USA is stronger than a single president, but demagogues have wrecked advanced, civilized nations before.

“It is exactly necessary to blame [a president, a judge] when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce . . . that we are to stand by the [president, judge], right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

If BO and co. are true devotees if alinksy then the rhetoric is going to get really nasty – even more than it has already. While a knight in shining armor representing the GOP would be welcome it is more important that the GoP leadership not buckle under the pressure.
November 2010 is only 18 months away and fundraising should be going very well whilst the dems well is drying up. As the day grows nearer the Dems will become increasingly nervous and pressure will mount to moderate much of BOs agenda especially cap and trade ( probably doa already) and the quagmire that is healthcare reform has yet to reach it’s dienbienphu stage.
And this slow glide into disfavour (not really that slow using a four year timescale) could plummet if there is a major political event – probably but not necessarily international – that reveals to all the narcissistic salesman who is vacuous philosohically ( as ET has well argued) his rating could plummet. BO got elected for emotional reasons more than any potus ever and like any relationship based on emotion rather than reason the feelings can swing from to hate very quickly and permanently. No one voted for GWB out of love he earned his support and it took years for him To fall into widespread disfavour under some of the worst conditions for an incumbent imaginable.
BOs inevitable fall will be far more cataclysmic.
That BO and co. are engaging in the politics of division after years of criticising Rove of doing it is an irony not lost on many in the GOP.
Of courseall of the above is lost on the cheerleaders in the MSM. There confusion and bitterness post facto will be something to behold – careers will founder on the rocks of hubris.

The Democratic National Committee raised $3.2 million in February, a strikingly low take for a financial juggernaut led by President Barack Obama and his legions of grass-roots supporters who helped him shatter campaign fundraising records.
Even the committee’s Republican counterpart raised more – $5.1 million – last month and did so under more difficult circumstances. The GOP was coming off of a disastrous election in which it lost the White House and saw its numbers in Congress shrink further. New GOP chairman Michael Steele also had a rocky start.
Overall, monthly reports being filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission show the Republican National Committee in healthier shape than the Democrats as both parties start raising money for special congressional elections and governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey this year, as well as congressional elections in 2010.
The DNC reported $8.6 million on hand and $7 million in debt, while the RNC reported $24 million in the bank and no debt.
So don’t think it’s all rosy.
