      1. I guess we’re keeping the GST, etc. to pay for the military, fixing the roads, hospitals, and so on.

        1. I remember when the GST was introduced, it replaced the 12% Federal Sales Tax which was hidden, but the GST was on more items so it would bring in more revenue. The rationale behind the GST was that it was going to be used to pay down the debt. That theory “aged like milk” as the saying goes.
          I have posted before “Don’t spend money you do not have” and that goes for governments. Based on family history, I have between 4-10 years left of life and I am glad. The federal government borrows money so they can turn around and “gift” it to Ukraine or some crappy country in Africa. Canada is doomed.

    1. Yeah, yeah … Newsom’s wife operates more non-profit NGO’s than The Tides Foundation … she’s rotten to the core. It’s interesting that Newsom says (to Trump) … “you can come after me, but leave ‘my family’ alone”. Yeah, he knows where the guilt lies.

      But THIS link from Zerohedge is quite disturbing. Newsom is building a major BUS transit hub on PCH at the End of Sunset Blvd. Yes, this will trigger SB79 … which will allow 7-story, high-density, NO PARKING (required) construction in a 2 mile radius of the ‘Major Transit Center’. Yes, it will RUIN PP.

      I cannot tell you how many times I’ve driven West on Sunset to the Sea … but I didn’t turn that jungle-music down, even when we were out of town. It used to be a BEAUTIFUL tree-lined drive with cute little neighborhood retail hubs dotting the journey. But this leftist State BURNED it all to the ground.

    This trend is not organic. The “Pinkey and The Brain” crowd (read British imperialist apparatchiks) have realized a looming fatal error and are attempting to realign forces to pit against the monster they have created. Now is the time to recognize the true enemy. Depose the imperialists, enforce the law (immigration, civil, criminal) take Carney and his cronies to the woodshed.
