  3. I like reading about Alberta’s castle law. It’s a little light of sanity in a country dark with progressive stupidity and self-loathing.
    But nothing threatens socialism like the independent individual, so expect filthy Liberals from coast to coast to be up in arms (heh) about even mentioning such a concept as self defense.

  10. University and college degrees still have value…..IF they are in STEM. The social “sciences” or “liberal arts” faculties should be shut down entirely or at the very least, the tuition to get into them should be doubled and the money used to cut the tuition into STEM faculties.

    2. JB, having rubbed shoulders with post secondary types for over 30 years (all on a part time basis)
      lve ‘seen it all’ and puzzle about where they go with the liberal artgs degrees EXCEPT back into the mix as research assistants, teaching assistants, bla bla bla assistants.

      or behind the counter at the burger joint.

      my likely final opinion on it all, tghe ‘soft’ courses are for the ones who simply cant hack the intellectual demand of law, IT, engineering, medicine, etc (that for the most part lead to SELF SUFFICIENCY aka self employment

        anyways, to repeat, it is likely my final opinion on post secondary studies, those opting to the ‘soft’ majors are the ones who want to ‘tag along’ but simply know they cant hack the intellectual demands of law, IT (that one’s mine), medicine, engineering or perhaps ie astronomy. personally having a slow uptake coupled with enormous power of recollection; l maxed out at 3 courses. but l DID it, a lot of it whilst working full time and raising a family. which kinda dovetailed with my learning process.

  13. Rejectinbg college – the problem is the result of making college/university a right for all. Even the dumb ones, resulting in dumbed-down and dumber courses. The high school moving up the educational ladder. Even 40 years ago, I asked the Russian emigre I was working with what he did for his BSc. I pointed out to him that he would have earned a master’s in the West. The process has been going on for a long time.

  14. War on fathers: It’s this time of the year where Christmas commercials will show us the modern family. In most of the commercials, white men will be absent and in many the father figure gone. Watch for it and you can’t miss it. Naturally all couples will be mixed and some gay, but we’re used to that. It’s Coca-Cola Santa time and there will be no reference to the religious nature of this “holiday” period.

    1. Media of every sort would have us believe that the modern father, after siring 3 or 4 children, discovers that he is gay and abandons his family. Unbelievable the trash that is broadcast.
