  1. Ontario’s Doug Ford is a drowning man that’s taking everyone around him down with them in a desperate attempt to keep their head above water. Ontario’s economic model is broken and Ford’s antics will damage all of the other provinces.

BTW, how would the rest of Canada like it if the USA meddles in Canada’s politics? Perhaps by using old quotes from past Prime Ministers and Ottawa media and then making political ads that aggravate the problems between Alberta and Saskatchewan & the rest of Canada. There’s plenty of material there that could influence an Alberta separation vote. Or, the USA could access their vast intelligence gathering agencies and release embarrassing dirt on current and past Canadian political figures like the Trudeaus, the Fords, etc.

    1. Actually, a lot of Canadians were pleased as punch when Barry the Magical Negro President said he supported the election of Canada’s First Negro Prime Minister.

      1. Canada has a weird love/hate relationship with America. Reminds me of old 80s high school movies where the nerds hate and resent the popular kids/athletes but, at the same time, go all giddy when the popular kids notice or befriend them.

Definitely an attitude more prevalent in central Canada because of their insecurities and an inferiority complex that expresses itself as arrogance, self-righteousness and obnoxiousness.

  2. Carnhole and Blubber Doug will continue to F around, until the only trade deal Canada has that is giving some advantage over other countries trading with the U.S.,,, is gone!
They appear willing to risk having an unre-newed USMCA trade pact, because somewhere they heard Trump likes people who are “tough” and don’t “back down” and all the while continue to insist on maintaining marketing boards in Canada, and keeping the massive tariffs on U.S. imports into Canada!

    Hilarious. What a dumbass.

  4. This country is on a course of wanton self-destruction.
The beclowning of alleged leadership is spectacularly bad.
As is the parroting by the sheeple far and wide, left and right.
This should be easy business deal to make and move on.
Instead, this country has chosen the death of a thousand cuts.
Monty Python’s Black Knight embodies the spirit and ineptness of the typical TDS Canadian.
Is there an adult anywhere in Ottawa?

    1. The only adults in Ottawa are likely residing in the US Embassy and a few other Embassies. They probably even hate their assignments, wishing they were in, say, their Embassy in Hungary instead.

    1. I’m beginning to believe that Canada had/has no choice but to go elbows up to Trump-merica. Why? Because Canada knows it’s got NOTHING … NO chip to play … holding a dead man’s hand. So Canada stomps their feet and pouts like a child who is being put to bed. Too immature … too powerless … to negotiate with Trump.

So they trot out a deceptively edited clip of Reagan … in an appeal to the TDS Americans for … sympathy? Clueless. Utterly clueless and nutless.

      1. Regardless of the editing, they’re clueless that Trump didn’t start the tarriffs. He is fulfilling Reagan’s prophetic words with his counter-tariffs against the closed Canadian economy. Marx Carnage would rather tank our economy than allow competition in fields like dairy and telecom (that would lower bills for millions of Canadians) because that would hurt Carnage’s support base.

      2. If PP had only recognized that Trump was actually handing him a lifeline way back when all of this started, and had spoken well of Trump and not given in to his fear that he might be out-nastied by Carney, all of this might have been avoided. He’d be Trump’s friend, and I’d still be drinking Moosehead.

    1. Marc, you keep droning on about that, and I so fervently wish it were so. AB/Sask residents are Canadians first, Carney will say Boo! and they’ll wet themselves, fall to their knees and beg to be allowed to be part of the flock. Cowards first, cowards always. Sheep filled shithole.

          1. I wish I was with marc, but I’m with Peter.
Look at the new mayors of Calgary and deadmonton and weep.
I can even envision Smith losing to Nenshi next time around.

The left continues it’s march in Alberia.
From Ralph to Rachel in record time, then bounce back….for now.

          2. stevie & Peter,
the recent mayoralty elections in AB had vote splits which played a role. In Calgary especially, the right was split between Davidson and Sonya Sharp which added up to quite a bit more than the eventual winner, Mr. Farkas.
Danielle Smith and the UCP are currently polling well ahead of the NDP, in spite of a recent dip and an ongoing campaign by striking teachers. Perhaps when the UCP starts pointing out that teachers are permitted 90 paid sick days a year they’ll regain that lost % as well as showing that each and every promise made to AB in private by the federal #Libranos is bullshit and will never be acted upon by them… there were +10 items on Premier Smith’s list of demands from the federal gov’t, (NONE have been acted upon, and she’s clearly said these items are must act upon’s) … Time is up if she’s going to show us what she’s made of, and willing to act now that the legislature here is back in sitting.
It’s a long ways to the next prov. election… 3 years.

*Not angry, not trying to be a jerk, just sayin’ and staying optimistic in a sea of despair that is tier 2 Canada.

          1. marc,
thank you for the sincere and welcome rebuttal.
            I mean it.
That rally at the leg also warmed my heart.
I lived and worked in Edmonton for 35 of my almost 70 years, and had a gig that entailed time in that leg building.
I retired to BC but sometimes miss the acreage east of Edmonton.
            I hope Danielle hangs tough.

  5. I have a different take on this. Carney’s entire professional life has been spent trying to urge deindustrialization. He’s now in a position to do that to Canada. He knows it will tank the economy. He knows it will cause job losses and massive poverty. He knows he will be hated like no one has ever been hated before (even more so than the enemy leaders in WW2 and the cold war) by the newly impoverished.

Carney needs someone to point at while he says “it wasn’t my policies that took your jobs and hope. It’s Orange Man Bad.” And enough in the east will buy that that Carney probably won’t get lynched.

  6. “Canadian commentators who attack guys… for getting tough with Trump?”

Catsmeat needs to learn the difference between getting tough and getting stupid.
Out west here we believe being conservative means being a square dealer, not a liar.

  7. Poor Warren wee-wee. Fantasizing about the days when he pretended to be a field marshall in a ‘war room’ – when in actual fact he was just another one of crooked Chretien’s hemorrhoids.

  8. A proper country would have leaders who could negotiate and had a desire to. We have a country where most leaders are working towards destruction of Canada. One would suspect they are working for some undisclosed entity and have been promised a cushy retirement.

  9. Did any stop and think Trump’s reaction was a negotiating tactic? Create a crisis to push for a better deal. I don’t think Trump cares what tomorrow looks like, he cares about what next year looks like. America is swimming in debt and its deficit is unsustainable. The US will fall if something isn’t done, and Trump is actually trying to do something about it. If that screws over every other country on earth, I don’t think Trump cares. America First! That’s the job he was hired for, and that’s the job he trying to carry out. Everyone else can lookout for themselves. The best we can do is figure out how we can help Trump achieve his goals in a way that doesn’t grind us into the dirt. We can also try to reduce our reliance on the US so that when these inevitable shocks some, we can weather the storm with as little damage as is reasonable.

If Trump didn’t go off about the ad, he would have gone off about something else. If he thought he couldn’t get a better deal he would have ignored the add or skewered Ford on social media and then sign the trade agreement. He obviously feels he can get a better deal by appearing to overreact and slam Canada with more tariffs. What I would like to know is what else does he want and what have we already given away? Alberta oil at 10 bucks a barrel? A chunk of BC so Alaska can be part of the contiguous US? Exclusive rights to rare earths in the north? We don’t know what has been said and what has, or has not been agreed to.

Another thing, if you think Ontario and the federal government didn’t collaborate on the add, including its release date, you’re as stupid as Carney thinks you are.

  10. Carney is the pawn of his WEF buddies. The goal is de-industrialization which has been mentioned and which is proceeding rapidly. What is happening to Canada is just according to the Liberals plan. Canadians are a bunch of scared rabbits who will soon enough long for MAID. Ankles up!

  11. Fat Ford and Marx carnage are working for Western Alienation, cause it sells in the East.
    Ottawa is the crab bucket.
    Always pulling Provincial Enterprises down..
How much would Brookfield Resources profit by breaking Canada up and selling the pieces?
For that is Mr Carney’s one true skill.

The East West Divide is enormous and cultural.
The West is leaving, feeling that the east has left us no other options.
The mathematics of our current situation are inescapable.
The East believes that the West is just posturing,to negotiate for a “better deal”.

And these differing beliefs are set in stone.
For in the West a man’s word has value.
In the East lying is the default choice.
We are using the same words, but these words have no common meaning.
Eastern Promises are just mouth noise, always lies, always without content.

Trump is acting in the interests of the USA,naturally those “interests” being what he understands them to be.
And seems to be heading off imminent national bankruptcy.

And when times are tough, all those greedy freeloading relatives are the first to be cast adrift.
And it is pretty clear that Canada is seen as a phoney friend and freeloading mooch by those in the USA who even notice us.

And we have form for that role.
Acting for years as sanctimonious critics of the USA,their wealth and power..While we freeload on their military protection, as we seeth with jealously toward their wealth ,energy and freedoms..

    “We hates them Americans,we do”.
So say so many of our self appointed intellectuals and elected “leaders”…
As we have bankrupted Canada, borrowing so we can “Live like Americans” while refusing to work like them.

Now we are witnessing Can Ahh Duh’s collapse and soon enough the former Canadian West will realign with the USA,because that is who we have common values and common cause with.
    That is the immediate battle.

    But look to our future..
    Fortress North America.
For why should we share a civil society with fools who hate it and constantly seek to destroy ?
And they are perfectly free to destroy what they themselves build…But that never happens does it?
They seek to destroy what we build..
These creatures are one of the reasons we cannot have nice things.
The very civic institutions that protect useless parasites such as themselves are their targets.
    Interesting times are upon us.

    Short time line guess.

The West leaves the Confederation and aligns itself with USA,creating a free travel zone from Mexico to The Arctic Ocean. We trade as citizens and thus stop funding those who hate us.

Ottawa implodes,as they now have no oil and gas reserves to borrow against.
    Canada goes bankrupt.
(Yes we already are but honesty is not a Can Ahh Duhian feature).
The new North American State buys up or seizes for unpaid bills the bankrupt sections, perhaps allowing the inhabitants to stay, but cancelling all state welfare, encouraging the Takers to take off .
Until the natural borders of the State of North America are the oceans..
The europhiles already call patriots “Isolationists”..so let us give them something to really whine about.

  12. That Benedict Arnold guy. He made a mistake. Ooopsie.

Kinsella must be referring to 1781 during Arnold’s attack on Fort Griswold in his home state of Connecticut. In that incident, British forces slaughtered more than 130 American soldiers who had already surrendered. Good on Benedict Arnold for recognizing that as a mistake.
