The Law Society of Upper Canada licenses lawyers and paralegals in Ontario, where WLU is based. It started reminding legal professionals in September to submit a “Statement of Principles” confirming their “obligation to promote equality, diversity and inclusion,” and rejected a proposed exemption for “conscientious objectors” earlier this month.
Update: On her Twitter account, Lindsay Shepherd just referenced this “statement” from the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association. This is the antithesis to free speech and illustrates Deborah MacLatchy’s earlier statements to be beyond hollow.

So, if equality doesn’t actually mean equality then when we say 2+2 =4 that doesn’t mean it has to actually =4, there are many valid outcomes so long as the answer is diverse.

Those forcing these positions on us aren’t lawyers, Neo, they’re marxist totalitarians who have law degrees. Kenji is right. They have control of law societies in many provinces and they use their positions to advance their agenda.
I think that the LGB etc etc community mostly thinks that they are receiving long delayed “justice”. Except that they’re not. They don’t realize that their place in the pecking order isn’t really number one.
