  1. I hope Calgarians start to realize she’s as much a commie as their previous omnipotent lord and master.
    Another useless destroyer.

    1. maybe Calgarians like controversy more than we realize, or they are so discouraged by the city councillors they keep electing that support the same idiotic pablum that their mayor spews. What Calgary( and other cities) should do is prohibit the following types from being nominated:
      schoolteachers
      social workers
      AUPE members
      CUPE members
anyone who identifies as an “activist”

maybe if there were more entrepreneurs on councils there would be more sanity.

      1. very similar to the idiots in Toronto, they keep electing the same hair brained liberals and can’t understand why the city is deteriorating

    1. Too many Conservative mayoral candidates so the vote is split and the union backed commie slips up the middle.

  2. Does anyone know what the treaties actually say? Or do they just parrot what they are told? It’s like the treaties mean nothing except to create a slave class, to pay for other peoples stuff. Or opportunities for grift and virtue signalling.

    1. You don’t want that sort of content to be revealed .. like how the treaties specifically called on the government to restrict alcohol availability, how the bands specifically requested schools( including residential schools), how the developemt of agriculture on reserves was a high priority etc etc.. The indian industry depends on ignorance for its very survival…

  3. You now see a prime reason why I (as a veteran) do not attend Remembrance Day ceremonies.
I would get in trouble for throwing rocks at these assholes.

  4. I did not hear Mayor Gondek say “settlers on someone else’s land.” She did acknowledge that Calgary sits on the traditional territory of Treaty 7 First Nations – a simple fact. Her commentary on veterans and currently serving members of the CAF was actually quite good.

    1. This “acknowledgment” show ignorance of the Treaties and lack of knowledge of the history. The Cree, who moved west with the fur traders, claimed this was there’s.

    2. Treaty land is not Indian land, so why acknowledge?
Some natives think it still is, they think that’s why the acknowledgement.
As for IRS they were paid $5B when Harper was PM specifically for IRS wrong doings (what ever they were), now they do a rinse repeat for another sucker in the PMO now.
      This BS has to stop.
Now they are trying to make it a crime to call them out on their lies.
Virtue signalling can get very expensive when $Billions and individual rights are at play.

    3. Yes, I hate this bitch’s guts and I’m delighted to see her in trouble, but this was a completely inoffensive land acknowledgement. Obviously working oneself into a lather over it can be great fun and might help boost morale, but we really should hold off until she actually does something objectionable. After all, it won’t be long, it’s Gondek.

  5. Fight fire with fire.
Start every corporate or government meeting or public event with an acknowledgement of the sacrifices of the men who fought and died for our freedoms.
If they want their woke shit in every event then let’s insert our own acknowledgments into everything too.

Start with the acknowledgment of the sacrifices of the Royal Navy who fought and ended the slave trade.
Throw in the sacrifices of all the men who died fighting communism and the National Socialists.
Acknowledge the 100 million victims of communism.
Acknowledge the white guy who developed penicillin and the white guy who developed the heart transplant procedure.
Acknowledge the white guy who invented the light bulb for the light in the room, and thank the white guy who developed AC electricity transmission.
Thank Henry Ford for mass producing the Ford Model T that evolved into the transportation that brought us all together here.
    Thank Orville and Wilbur.
    I could go on….

  6. Jyoti is a settler on someone else’s land.

So she should go back to where her ancestors came from.

But here’s the problem. That’s also someone else’s land. The entire planet with one exception, consists of land that was stolen from someone else.

    So Jyoti should go there.

      1. We may have originated in Olduavi Gorge, but that land has also changed hands.

        The one place?

        Hint, bring a parka.

  7. When we re-interred our Unknown Soldier here in Newfoundland on July 1 the worthless waste of rations and oxygen we call the Governor General began her comments with “We gather here on unceded land….” as if the Beothuk were still here to contest our right of conquest to bury our honoured fallen where we chose.

    1. Pretty difficult to cede land when you’ve been exterminated.

Hey, wait … who exterminated the Beothuk? Oh, right, it was the Migmaw. Is she saying the Migmaw own Newfoundland?

      1. Dirtman, there seems to be a lot of people like her who seem to think the Mi’kmaq are native to Nfld. They aren’t. They were brought in to help remove the Beothuk. Now they’re laying claim to all sorts of land here.

    2. I’m not sure how you could cede land more effectively than by dying and letting the other guy live on it.

    1. I think they are too.
The UN wants access to municipal level to push their agenda. bypassing the public.
The unions are all in with the UN.
Look at the COVID response, all coordinated in advance by bureaucrats.

  8. 100% guarantee she’ll be re-elected like every mayor before her. Doesn’t matter what they do they get re-elected. We are a city whose only active voters are in love with this squanderous, pandering, commie witch.

And I get another 8% bump on my property tax.
8% for them to not fix our crumbling roads, our ancient, leaking, water system, and the shit-storm that I fear we’ll see when the sanitary sewer system blows a tube.

More bike lanes, bike lanes 4ever!!!

    1. Gondek is as loathed as the commie faggot before her, Nenshi the Hutt.

The fact that these NDP scum are in power is no reflection of Calgarians, but rather those who install them at (s)elections.

    2. It’s a helluva lot more than eight per cent. It’s raised a percentage on paper, then they assess your house at a higher value. It becomes more like twenty per cent.

      1. Good point, Mike. It reminded me that the Biden Administration was toying with the concept of federally taxing “unrealized profits” on housing. As I understand it, if you bought a house for 500K and never sold it but the assessors said it was now a 750K house, they would be looking to tax you on the 250K that you never even received, because you never sold it and may be still living there.
In a very real sense we are exposed to a similar thing. If your house increases in value you get taxed more, (in property tax) even if you still own it and live in it. I am sure the Americans have a similar municipal property tax issue, but the “unrealized profit” tax was intended to be a federal tax on top of that.

  9. She needs access to the remote control portable Orgasmatron that Freeland uses when she fields a question from the media.

  10. Cities are subsidiarity to provinces, Smith talked of introducing party politics to municipal elections. In the big cities, it’s a good idea as it reduces the numbers of non left candidates competing against the leftist bloc of government employees and the greater left responsible for the likes of Gondek.

      1. I don’t say that cruelly. Indeed, I have some sympathy. I used to have a body fit for nudism, but sadly, the girl that owned it left me.
