Individual liberty and free markets are fascist? Who knew?
Javier Milei continues his fascist rampage in Argentina.
He has authorised the Privatising of all remaining State owned industries (thats his donors cashing in).
He has also authorised the sale of all Social Housing and removed all rent controls
It is going exactly as expected pic.twitter.com/uSZS5sP6wt

For how those calling Milei fascist, remember the INGSOC slogan, “Freedom is Slavery”, is how they think.
They are so used to authoritarianism that they are hostile to the idea of freedom, but don’t want to come out and admit they miss the good ol’ days of shortages and the fear of being arrested for saying the wrong thing.
The Internationals were fine with the Nationals and Fascists until June 22, 1941, then they had a sudden change of mind…
all of them are still from the poisoned tree of marxism
I would say that the commenter in the tweet does not understand the nature of fascism.
Fascism only pretends to be a free market system, as the owners of the means of production end up being no more than puppets of the central planning committee.
Communism is a little more honest on that front, as they just nationalize everything.
Or vice versa. I always say I don’t care how billionaires live their life up to the point they start trying to control mine. Same goes for politicians.
“Leave me alone.”
One can always hope that Pollievre is a closet admirer of Milei, but I think he’ll land closer to Trudeau than Milei if I was a betting man.

As businessmen in Germany during the Nazi regime would say….”Under Bolshevism all your cows will be taken away from you because you are a kulak. Under National Socialism you are allowed to keep the cows; but the State takes all the milk, and you have the expense and labor of feeding them.”
In reality, there is little daylight between the two ideologies.
“In reality, there is little daylight between the two ideologies”:
Quoted in Niall Ferguson’s ‘The War Of The World’:
“There are two breeds of Bolshevism…..there is nothing to choose between the philosophies of Moscow and Berlin.”
Duff Cooper, British politician, First Lord of the Admiralty – August 23, 1939.
“Fascism only pretends to be a free market system, as the owners of the means of production end up being no more than puppets of the central planning committee.”
That’s 100% true.
“Communism is a little more honest on that front, as they just nationalize everything.”
Yes, and the similarities between the the two systems are very much closer than the left will ever admit. They *still* try to label fascism as ‘right wing’ ever chance they get.
When you are far enough to the left, national socialism looks right wing.
I’d suggest that he/they/whatever don’t understand ANYTHING.
I’d say he’s a fckin idiot and needs the shit beat out of him.
Pretty much my auto-reply to everything these days. Let’s hope he gets some wins here and there. Remember, just like Trump, he will be undermined by every level of bureaucracy every waking minute of his administration. And if the public can be convinced he’s a failure, in comes another Communist to wipe out any gains. See the last 3 years in USA.
The idiots previously running Argentina in to the ground were Peronists, named after the party formed by Juan Peron in the 1940s. Juan was a big fan of the Socialist Economic Policies of the NASDAP, the National Socialist German Workers Party, and their leader, Mr. A. Hit ler.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Perón
If any people in Argentina are fascists? It’s the previous Peronist Government. Javier Milei Is more a fan of Milton Friedman and Free Markets.
His move late last week was straight from Hayek…
see: Denationalisation of Money (Large Print Edition): The Argument Refined
But that is what the people voted for……….you know………democracy………
The People MUST agree with The State … the Institutions … or they will be set upon by The State … called names and even moudered.
People still don’t understand that when the government controls the economy, there is no economy. How quickly they forget last weeks shortages and hyperinflation. More control won’t help.
Davis, You’re missing the point. From their perspective, more control will help. Help them control us!
But, but, but … the Biden Admin. just insisted that the RATE of inflation has lowered … hahahaha … My average weekly grocery bill is $50 – $75.00 higher than 1 year ago. Take your slowing RATE of inflation and shove it
Our grocery bills aren’t any higher. We just eat a lot more sausage and perogies and beans and wieners than we used to. You have to adapt to survive.
I haven’t had a streak in over a year.
Commies and fascists always double down until they’re hanging from lamp posts.
Free markets & free individuals scare the shit out of them.
That’s why they disarm the populace.
I can only hope that Javier Milei will be successful. It will be almost impossible to turn the economy around, but if he succeeds, I will guess that Argentina will have one of the best economies in the “Americas” in about 5-6 years.
In all reality he is attempting to do what the Soviet Union did … transfer from a Communist State-run economy with no incentives to be productive or efficient … into a Free Market model where the marketplace determines the winners. It wasn’t easy or smooth for the Soviet Union … and it probably tough for Argentina
Good luck to him. He’s needs all the help he can get
Argentina’s economy is about as bad as you can get so there’s going to be no denying the economic miracle of his presidency. He’ll be the best president they’ve ever had.
The short term hardship will be too much for the populace to handle. My guess is that they will vote for the next glad handler who comes along and offers lots of free stuff.
I’ve never understood how Fascism managed to get placed on the political right of the spectrum.
It’s a steady progression of fewer government controls and enhanced personal freedom until they inserted Hitler in there and right after Fascism, Anarchy.
Something doesn’t fit.
I assume it has to do with the Left controlling the media after world war 2 and wanting to distance themselves from Hitler even though they want to enact nearly all of his policies.
Easy, the USSR sits on the left, therefore the propaganda organizations of soviet aligned or communists, identified fascism and nazi’ism as the enemies of the left, making them on the right… you just have to ignore that until June 22, 1941 that fascism, naziism and communism were allies in the dismemberment Poland…
It’s “going exactly as expected,” eh? GOOD!
I would expect that it does, and nothing less.
Well, I’ve seen this movie before. A entrenched lefty country goes shock privatization. ( Suggested by Harvard academics) Where? Russia. Close state actors scoop up for pennies state assets. Didn’t turn out well.
I’ve read that in this case he’s trying to transfer a least some ownership to the employees. If that is true then some of the croneyism will be moderated.
As Steyn is fond of saying, politics is downstream from culture. I think it remains to be seen whether a top-down shock transition from crony collectivism to free markets is even possible. It’s jusr about firing 90% of the government, it’s instilling a culture of self-determination and entrepreneurship. Otherwise, as other commenters here have mentioned, you just get people angling for the next big taxpayer-funded grift.
I do wonder if the secret sauce here isn’t faith in institutions. If you believe that all large organizations are fundamentally corrupt and dishonest, you are never going to believe that working hard and making opportuntity for yourself is goign to work. I think if a shock transition is ever going to work, a “Jail. Straight to jail. Take bribes? Jail. Unlawful collusion? Jail.” policy is probably the first necessary step.
Check out the replies. That tweet is being heavily ratio’d.
Such a thing as too much government control and bureaucracy.. Same goes for the other end..
Fact.. Argentina is blessed with excellent resources and geography.. It has everything it needs to be a rich modern 1st world state except the politics to make it happen.. They have nothing left to do or try except free the market up to attract investment..
Russia did it.. China did it.. One day we will do it too.. Buying votes and rewarding your friends has replaced free enterprises ability to offer up the best goods and services.. We should be voting with our money instead of voting for free money.. Who needs a better product when you have a monopoly.. It is welfare for the rich and all the dumb arses who support it for crumbs..
Bureaucrats and social workers run everything.. A well oiled (lol) army of self serving activists that has media savvy down to an art.. As if leave me alone can put 10 000 people on the street overnight.. Why report on John going broke when we have 10 000 welfare cases banging on a drum?..
Up to our ears in dirty politicians, fake media and brownshirts.. All of them greedy. greedy.. We are Argentina fighting over crumbs..
