The Asteroid Cometh

As yesterday’s Episode 1 of Twitter Tucker clocks 96.3M views;

The Los Angeles Times is cutting its newsroom staff, becoming the latest news organization to contract amid economic pressures brought on by advertising and print readership declines.

The Times is eliminating 74 positions in the newsroom, representing about 13% of the total.

Still too many.

  1. It’s a 10 minute clip. The guy put out Tucker Carlson Tonight and Tucker Carlson Today with vastly more hours of content. I get that he isn’t Fox on his own but he has a lot of money that Fox is paying him. With 100 million views, why didn’t he put out another 10 minute clip today.

    1. I guess he’s waiting for every living human to watch that one first. So maybe next week.

  2. That’s a lotta Truthiness right there.
I gots ta sitdown an have a cofeve.

  3. If they say nice things about True Dough, I’m sure he would cut them a cheque too………..

    1. “How to make hand lettered cardboard signs, 101.”
      And
“How to select and defend the best off-ramps, 102.”

Government-sponsored career retraining for unemployed propagandists journalists.

  4. I wonder if these media organizations will consider the obvious?
    Lying lost them their customers.
Maybe ‘Not Lying’ would bring them new customers?
The Now, Government Media became willing servants ,because they lost revenue..Because the readers abandoned them as untrustworthy and the advertisers followed the readers..
    They saw this happen..
And kept right on lying and omitting..
And begging for subsidies..from the tax payer dollars of the very same people who had rejected their product..
    And even with government handouts?
    They keep loosing customers..
Maybe ,just maybe, there is no market for what they are selling?

    1. I don’t think they will. It seems to me that, like a lot of things/people nowadays, their ideology (the message) – and reinforcing it and passing it on, and rubbing our noses in it until we submit to it/them ourselves – is fundamentally more important than anything else.

      1. It’s like health care in Canada where the patient is the product and not the customer. All other problems flow from that.

  5. Biden would likely follow Trudeau’s lead and force the taxpayers to subsidize his propaganda ministry and keep them employed. Good thing the Repubs scraped through to take congress or it would already be done

  6. At 102 million views,at this time, is this a sign of vapid curiousity?
Or a sign of how throughly rejected the “Official Narrative” has become?
The “news” is such a vacuum today..
    Canada being a glorious example.
“Doom,Doom,Doom..Do as we say or you will all burn in Climate Change?”

Even while Tucker speaks of Extra terrestrial bodies and alien craft,we no longer look away or automatically mock..
Because todays paranoid cynicism has turned out to be tomorrows reality?
Or because truth is stranger than fiction?

Accusing our own governments and the minions there of,of lying, is no longer a conspiracy theory or senseless paranoia..
Because they have lied to us,repeatedly and with malice.
The default assumption, based upon the people involved,is that everything they say is false.

    A deadly situation.
Who gains by destroying civic trust and loss of faith in the institutions?
For in Tucker Carlson’s message and the response to it,I see a nostalgia,a longing for something lost and a growing realization and fear of what is next to come.

History..That record of human affairs, written as always,by the survivors..Some say ‘winners’..
History, from which certain patterns can be dimly seen.
    And the one simple fact..
    We learn nothing ..
    Without pain.

    And through all that comes,we will be repeating the great mantra;
“Look what you made me do”.
AKA “You really should have left me alone”.

For fools, unlike bandits, cannot be reasoned with.
There is no “cure” for stupid.

  7. Can somebody who knows explain the view count on Twitter? I don’t know exactly how it works, but I do know that people are counted even if they don’t actually watch the video. If you scroll past it on your feed, it counts as a view. I am pretty sure there is a way to know the actual number of people who “watched”. A “watch” being counted as having seen more than 20 seconds. Something like that.

    1. Elon’ll get right on that for ya.
      Clickbait?
      Spaces?
      Counting keystrokes?
