9. The Carney regime is making easier and easier to freaking voluntarily spill a land acknowledgement and then join a “first nation” through marriage or whatever, because Kanad-UH! is gone. It looks like to me that the “first nations” got the recipe right, as they already got BC’s lower mainland, are making progress in the Okanagan and beyond, while holding the IRS scalp (no, not the US Internal Revenue Service, but the Canadian institution that cannot be named) above the rest of us. Which brings “festivus” to mind, for the old enough.

10. In 2018 the Canadian Government under the guidance of Justin Trudeau dramatically reduced the advantage of being self employed (mainly in the area of transferring profits out of a corporation to personal income).

    In 2026 the Carney Government has started appealing to entrepreneurs to “build it here” mostly in the form of slick advertising campaigns.

    My advice to Carney is to roll back the tax rules to 2017 when there was an advantage in taking on risk as an entrepreneur. Until then, work for the government, a bank, or an insurance company. At least you’ll get holidays and weekends off.
