With respect to the post about Universities and their demise, I knew a guy in the early 1980’s who was a HVAC contractor. He also bought houses, developed the basements, built a garage and lived in them for at least 3-5 years, then sold them and did it all over again. He was constantly attending night classes (I remember him achieving his boiler maker papers). He now owns 3 businesses and hires accountants and lawyers. He is a multi-millionaire and still works hard even though he is in his early 70’s.
Mike Rowe is absolutely correct in that we need more tradespeople and engineers. I was in design and construction so I do not think we need more architects (most of the ones whom I knew had major emotional problems).
