Gabbard did a fine job. The acting replacement is her Deputy, Aaron Lukas. Lukas is, IMO, even a better choice than Gabbard. He doesn’t sugar coat were he stands. He’s got the politicians on the Left apoplectic for saying that the DEI Culture is a “toxic menance.” And, he’s good friends with another good egg, Nick Freitas.
I’m pretty sure that Lukas was Gabbard’s mentor to some extent with all his intelligence experience, which is why she made him her right hand man.
