5. Honestly, when I first saw this I was unsure if it was satire. It was only when it got near the end that I realized that it was. I’m trying to figure out if that’s more a comment on me or a comment on them.

      In a clip posted April 8 by Juno News, Gazan slammed Budget 2026 for cutting $7 billion from Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations, declaring: “They provided $0 to deal with the ongoing genocide of MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+. Rates of violence are increasing, and the PM is turning a blind eye.””

      Another article she calls anyone who criticizes alphabet people bigots.

      “NDP MP Leah Gazan (Winnipeg Centre) takes on the critic roles for Indigenous Affairs as well as Arctic Sovereignty, and she remains critic for Women and Gender Equity, Children, Families and Social Development, People with Disabilities, Post-Secondary Education, Skills and Training, and Prairies Economic Development.”

9. The humourless NDP woman is sadly serious. Someone needs to tell her that non-indigenous woman have about the same statistics as non-indigenous women for cases solved and offenders prosecuted. Further, far too much violence against indigenous women comes from indigenous men, often in intimate relationships. This is an issue that can only be resolved reserve to reserve, community to community. The Council of Chiefs (or whatever their group name is) needs to stop posturing and go back the their communities and reserves to push for zero tolerance of said violence.
