  1. Let’s hope they have better camera coverage of this, unlike that launch which was total amateur hour. The friggin Wright Brothers had more compelling footage of their “launch” back in 1903.

I used that exact same phrase (amateur hour) to my best friend who is a SpaceX fan and watches every launch. I told him that NASA should have hired SpaceX to do their video and photography…because yeah, that was just embarrassing.

  2. Cutting edge 4 frames/sec didn’t impress you? It’s been 5 decades and they couldn’t leave a video camera on the whole time?
    What about this BS.
“The most harrowing part of the journey lies ahead: a fiery 13-minute plunge through Earth’s atmosphere at about 24,000 mph (38,600 kph) that will subject them to temperatures of up to 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit (2,760 degrees Celsius) with only their heat shield for protection and parachutes to slow down.”

They forgot the Zillions of Rems of Cosmic Gamma, X-rays, whatever else through the Van Allen Belts. Ever see a Chemtrail or Contrail in those cloud shots of the blue marble? Hmm

    But I’m sure it’s real.
Zoom in, show us a ship upside down in Australia and one on top of the globe.
    I’ll wait….

  3. Someone made a hilarious suggestion, that the crew who pick them up at splash down should wear Planet of the Apes masks and costumes.

  4. I’ve never witnessed so much hand-wringing by NASA and the news media about the reentry of the Artemis capsule. Story after story discussing how dangerous … and fraught with danger the reentry is. The angle has to be perfect or the capsule burns up! The heat shields may fail as the capsule falls at 24,000 mph. On and on.

So I looked up Musk’s space station rescue capsule … that had NO stories about the capsule burning up … but learned it only traveled at 17,500 mph. OK … so I looked up Apollo … and found those capsules returned at 25,000 mph … but I don’t recall any inordinate FEAR-porn in the media of the day. No … the stories were mostly celebratory.

So what’s up with the Artemis reentry FEAR-porn? I find it really odd.

    1. FEAR-porn has given way to PRIDE-porn. I assume we got the Canadian hitch hiker back safe … well wait till he’s stretchered out of the capsule.

Now I hope the crew collected new data on how we are killing the planet with global warming … and how we need to wean ourselves off our “addiction to fossil fuels”™️

Because our planet looks like a delicate blue marble from space or something…
