  1. L – Why you ask, would they be giving a finish medal to someone not actually finishing?
    I can think of two.
    1. If the runner was from Finland.
    2. There is nothing so crippling as low expectations. Thereby, they wish to subvert the very idea of aspiring to accomplish something difficult. For the less you believe in being able to strive and achieve increasingly difficult tasks. The more you will come to view yourself as a victim, as oppressed and the more likely to become resentful of those who accomplish difficult things. This most especially of those, who never stop striving and becoming able to achieve ever more difficult things.

    Soon the way to “win” an Olympic medal in weightlifting will be to walk up to the heavy barbell. To stare at it and then to walk away.

    Here endith the lesson for today.

    1. 1. Finland. LOL

      3. The body positive movement demands it, because fat runners deserve medals too. Otherwise these races are just another racist event that excludes BBW from participation. Do you wanna host a race? Or be racist? Not in CA!

  2. Trophy——>Participation trophy—->Contemplation trophy—->what in the world is next?

    1. Just give them a medal when they sign up. Then they can choose to participate or not.

  3. You know those old sayings:
    When the going gets tough, quit.
    If at first you don’t succeed, quit.

  4. I’m okay with an 18 mile participation medal providing that it is the 26 mile medal with a bite out of it leaving a 18/26th medal.

  5. … “tough race day”? What!? You get REWARDED for having a … “tough race day”?

    Here’s what happens when I have a “tough work day” … I don’t get my work done, and I don’t get paid. Because I don’t have a UNION insist I get paid for work undone or poorly done. I am self employed, and my clients won’t $Pay for unfinished work. This is what happens when Socialists host races.

  6. I never knew that being a procrastinator would get me closer to the Olympic team.

    1. I hear Lindsey Vonn had a very “bad race day” in this past Winter Olympics… shattered her leg to pieces and was airlifted off the mountain. She got the Zinc Medal though … Right?
