The Canadian government has surrendered Vancouver. On Feb. 20, the federal government announced three agreements with the Musqueam Indian Band. One of those agreements recognizes Musqueam Aboriginal title within their traditional territory. That territory is located around the mouth of the Fraser River, including what is now Vancouver and neighbouring municipalities. The agreements were negotiated secretly without public input.
If the federal government wanted to calm the waters over the status of private property rights in British Columbia, this was not the way to do it. Which means that’s not what they wanted to do. They have chosen to pour oil on the fire. The Musqueam agreements are the latest edicts to pose existential risks to property interests in B.C. Let’s recap.

I am so looking forward to Alberta taxing the living crap out of truck and rail traffic from and to BC. It’ll make up for the years BC has gouged Canada with their Pacific ports.
I may be misinformed, but it is my understanding that the aboriginals/First Nations/Indians of the former British colony of BC never signed a treaty with the new Canadian government and so can do this declaration of ownership. Does this declaration mean that people who thought they owned property and have been paying property taxes on it, now must pay additional tax/rent to the appropriate Indian band?
BC joined Canada in 1870 on the condition that a national railway would be built to connect them to the East. Forgive me (I DO love history), but I am a little hazy as to whether the railway was built first or in the 1870’s. Since Confederation happened in 1867, I am thinking the railway was built in the 1870’s.
A criminal organization never commits the crime, they merely ensure that they get their cut or elzz sumptim very bad cud appin.
The beneficiaries of this agreement don’t want ownership of the city, nor do they want to even run the municipal government, what they want is a cut of the taxes.
The gutless politicians and the judiciary that enabled this, fear the response of the inevitable native protesters that will show up.
The CPR company was formed in 1881 and construction started on a trans-national railway. It was nominally completed on November 7, 1885, with the driving of The Last Spike.

What would be the chances of completing such a project in five years, in this day? Even with modern machinery instead of men with shovels and horse-drawn stuff? No chance. It would take 30 years and bankrupt the country.
As to the negotiations of such agreements, the State that the Canadian Eloi think represents them long ago agreed to “government to government” level of negotiations with the mythical self-governance of the Indian bands. It’s a club and you aren’t part of it. The inversion of the undisputed goal of both “governments” of apartheid is nearly complete. You will own nothing, just like the serfs on the reserve and you will continue funding not only a government that no longer represents you but the mythical indigenous self-governments that have never allowed an economy that includes private ownership of property and therefore remains a dependent, communist, feudal racial ghetto that “owns” Canada according the legalese fog of activist judges. Why anyone that doesn’t work for the state in such an apparently imminent dystopia would continue to pay taxes and obey laws under such a regime is beyond me.
I’m old enough to remember when the native warriors society decided to occupy a golf club near Montreal and the federal government decided to put a stop to it.
