  1. Now I wait to see the manner in which Canadians respond.
It’s rhetorical because I got a good idea how the elbows up TDS gang wants to respond and I want to see what verbal gymnastics they fabricate to straddle the fence with.

  2. Just a reminder: Iran declared war on the US in 1979. There has never been a peace treaty or even an armistice. Iran has actively pursued the war ever since.

        ” I was 4 in 1979. Now I’m old and fat.”
And lacking reasoning skills, and yer brain farts stink as bad as yer arm pits.

        1. Hey! I can make fun of myself, not you! 🙂
Believe it or not, a lot of people find reporters intimidating. So I find self-deprecating humor is helpful at times.

      2. Yes, we know Brian … that our former Allies in the UK and Canada will neither lend nor lease a hand in cleaning up the dangerous filth on this planet. We understand you’ve both become part of the Islamic caliphate … speaking of the 1940’s axis of Evil. So, just sit back and enjoy the show with a heaping plate of poutine.

        1. We did, a few times, and where did it get us.. some peace for a few years..

Now its our our own country we need to liberate, from ourselves!

          1. The price of peace is eternal vigilance. Please make a note of it. And thank you for your attention to this matter.

Oh! Wait! Now Keir Starmer wants to be on the winning side … so he’s reversed course. Pathetic.

          1. I’m sorry … Did Britain and Canada actually declare War on Iran … because they’ve been attacked? … to follow your illogic?

Lend-Lease, formally the Lend-Lease Act and introduced as An Act to Promote the Defense of the United States, enacted March 11, 1941), was a policy under which the United States supplied the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, France, the Republic of China, and other Allied nations of the Second World War with food, oil, and materiel between 1941 and 1945. The aid was given free of charge on the basis that such help was essential for the defense of the United States.

What has Britain or Canada given us to assist our military action?

          2. Kenji

FYI, March 1941 was well after the start of WW2.

By March 1941 Britain and Canada had been fighting for 18 months, while purchasing lots of military supplies from the U.S.

Note that the US did not enter WW2 until after it had been attacked by Japan; and entered the European war after Germany declared war on the U.S.

The two plus years that Britain fought, with the help of her Commonwealth allies, gave the US two years to prepare. The US Army and Army airforce were in poor shape (both men and equipment) and the US Navy was actually smaller than the British Navy.

The US decided it was not it it’s interest to join WW2, until after it was attacked.

Same situation now. Britain and Canada have not been attacked by Iran. They are applying Trumpian logic “What do we gain if we help the US in yet another war.” Answer? Nothing.

Meanwhile shifty Adam Schiff, like a number of Democrats, is spouting off against the Iran attacks. https://x.com/SenAdamSchiff/status/2027774366549971230
Save your indignation for your fellow Americans.

      3. L – “…old and fat” That’s not old but it feels old, if you adopt an exercise regime until it becomes a habit and eat nutritionally dense foods(reverse of the food pyramid). You gradually become like a rig pig, fit and lean and a fighting machine for the duration of oil&gas battles in the info-wars. Every decade of experience makes you more valuable, a kind of battlefield promotion. An improved circulation system preserves brain function, too. Fit to Fight ! A call to adventure. When officers set an example. It inspires others, too.

        1. It’s been a long time since I was an officer, or inspiring. But I did once stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

  3. I’d wind the clock a wee bit further back.
In the early ’50s the CIA, who were meddling in everyone’s affairs, overthrew Iran’s sitting PM and installed the Shah Pahlavi, ( I forget his full name)…certainly more secular but a nasty effer in his own right, ruling Iran with an iron fist. The Shah’s secret police made the Gestapo seem like Boy Scouts but U.S. oil interests in the region were secure with him at the helm and in the big picture that’s all that mattered.
Who rides in from France to rescue Iran? Uber theocrat Khomeini.

      1. L – The Iranian Revolution was by an axis of Marxists and Islamists. The naive Marxists were slaughtered immediately by the Islamists. The Arab monarchies who accepted Lawrence of Arabia’s offer of freedom from the Ottoman Caliphate of the Turks. They survive because because they outlaw and suppress the Muslim Brotherhood. The Western leaders of Marxist bent, have invited the M.B. Into their nations for a repeat of that Axis Alliance and now face civil war to see, who wins, Western Civilization or Totalitarianism?

All this while China’s exploits every weakness inside and out, patiently playing the long game. Westerners deprived of historical perspective under Cult. Marxism, no longer understand the the long game.

  4. The Mercans don’t seem to learn from past experiences. The Vietnam experience was a kick in the balls as was the Afgan fun and games. However I do hope they accurately demolish the Iranian military infrastructure without boots on the ground and without harming too many of the civilians who Trump is counting on to rise up and wipe out the moolahs. (Well I can dream, can’t I?)

    1. Currently watching PBS’s Vietnam War documentary…it’d make one weep once you discover how close the U.S. was from not becoming involved in that mess.
Tragic doesn’t begin to describe it.

      1. The Ken Burns documentary? I tried watching and found it a hot mess right from the start. I may have to give it another try some time.

    2. The US never learned the lessons from the UK that fought 100 colonial wars and never lost one. For example, in the Mau Mau Rebellion 95 British solders were killed along with 3,000 native allies against as many as 20,000 Mau Mau deaths. There weren’t many wounded or captured Mau Mau. The British won all their wars with unapologetic brutality. WTF is wrong with the US? Everyone hates them and they still want to be the nice guy. If you are going to fight a war, the least you can do is win it.

    3. Ridiculous analogy.
Do you see US boots on the ground in Venezuela or a previously imprisoned population now free to decide it’s own destiny?

  5. Long overdue. The decades of sponsoring terrorism are reason enough, but the pursuit of nuclear weapons is what finally finished the Mad Mullahs.

An important question now is how much of the *hundreds of billions* of dollars stolen and stashed in offshore accounts can be recovered. The people of Iran will need that money to rebuild their society.

      1. Obama got the peace prize, right off the hop, just because he was black! Then he ended up bombing all those people anyways!

        1. Oh those awful Libyans!
They had to have some information on Bill and Hillary and therefore had to die.

  6. Long Overdue.
Iran is, and has been, a terror supporter throughout the ME and the world. Supporting weaponry and training of hostiles everywhere.
Much like Venezuela, the Payback was overdue to come.
OTOH, as some have said, so much for Trump the Peacemaker, and they’re not wrong. I guess that will depend on these strategic strikes being successful, surgically removing the head of the snake without military invasions. Can’t disagree with the strategy. Invasions have terrible track records.
Israel showed everyone what a successful invasion looks like in GAZA. Did anyone lear?

    1. L – “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall called the children of God” There is a reason why the Colt Single Action in .45 Colt was named “The Peacemaker”. Being civil and settling disputes peaceably became common sense. The impulsively violent reduced their % of the gene pool.

Pax Romana, Pax Britannia and Pax Americana made trade and commerce from piracy enough for it to thrive. Just as Freedom of Speech allows the pursuit of truth to do the same. Political Islam is an eternal Holy War that impoverishes mind, body and soul, much like Marxism and it’s current variants.

  7. Easy to predict what is going to happen in Canada. Politicians will call for calm and dialogue. Iranian, Palestinian and other assets in the country will hold demonstrations. The CBC will interview dozens of female Iranian-Canadian dissident and activists on university campuses. Iran deserves far worse for that they have done since 1979.

  8. I have reached peak wisdom.
    I KNOW NOTHING.
I was probably the earliest Trump supporter here.
Reason been my shame over having being propagandized into supporting the Iraq war.
The Donald eschewed all foreign war adventuring.
And honestly Donald that white USA-emblazoned baseball cap!; though admittedly not as goofy as backwards like teenagers and Ben Mulroney.

  9. Something to think about to all the TDS sufferers out there. With a movement of troops and equipment of this magnitude Trump has now moved the chess board. The undercover infiltration in Venezuela was a test of the Russian and Chinese defence systems. The overthrow of the reigning power in Iran, if it happens in a short period, is the next move on the board. Once there is a interim government installed in Iran with the backing of American forces then Trump has established a theatre of operations to dictate policy in the region. Russia will have to reconsider the cost of the war with Ukraine with respect to the sizeable American contingent on its borders. China will now have to seek a policy with America to guarantee their source of oil. I would hazard a guess that this move by Trump may be the game, set, and match for peace in the region for the next twenty or so years. Just a thought.

    1. God, let’s hope so. The secondary results of this action are nearly incomprehensible.
      Redefining the axis of evil.
      Cuba is next.

  10. Hope it’s a quick in and out. Boasberg is likely looking for a way to stop it along with the American hockey team returning the gold medal.
