Except the European leadership regards “their” countries as a hotel, not a home. They expect to be safely in Mark Carney’s Canada or Lula’s Brazil ten minutes before the Russian army liberates their capitals—or the White genocide begins.

regarding the punch, another personal anecdote.
first off, lm a peacenick from WAY BACK. with a difference. let me put it this way, it is NOT the aggresion and assaults rile me, who is immune? happens daily. hourly somewhere. this is the rub: what ‘pushes my buttons’ is now the aggressor has necessitated me summoning and utilizing that *which l detest with a passion* but am *capable of in high measure* l must now utilize force and violence to address the sit’n.
lm 74 NEVER been ‘beat up badly’. because when push comes to shove that when they FAFO with kritter. 1st time l recollect l was actually unawares. the grade 7 recess nazi just wdnt let up. giving me nightmares. a week into the harrasment he comes at me. and runs headlong into a fury hammer blows pounding and pounding and pounding his blonde haired blued eyed classic nazi face into the dirt so badly he ‘lost the fight to the guy who always loses the fight’ (because l wdnt engage) he went home and HUNG himself.
as such again, it is this ‘forcing my hand’ that riles me to no end.
an aside note, part of my response turns into a certain rersolve; l have no fight training, no desire, but lightning fast reflexes and my strategy: show no fear. instead a cold glare, selecting where to hit with the attitude ‘well kritter, ya might get hurt but MAKE SURE THEY PAY’ long ago it occurred to me, the response theyre getting doesnt square with previous encounters. why isnt this one quaking and pleading? why the calm resolve? what does he know that l dont? and ‘9 times out of 10 THERE IS NO CONFRONTATION’.
ages pass and lm in a history class discussing nuclear deterrence and it hit me. thats what *I* was doing, making it clear (unintentionally but it worked) that they might hurt me and l guess they will, but THEY are gonna get HURT BACK. its the ultimate irony, the FACT one can visit a civilization ending retaliation is the very FACT things dont go south IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Wisdom. I made all my kids take martial arts. Their choice but they had to have some self defence skills. My sons never actually had to use their skills because they displayed that air of confidence. My daughter who was a petite blond had to use it once when she was attacked. After disengaging from her attacker she ran away screaming for help thereby drawing the attention of police officers who rendered first aid and called an ambulance for her attacker. (She had several years of boxing and kick boxing plus karate.)
