They promised AI would change the world as we know it, and all we got was a lousy Wizard of Oz remake.
I am Agent #847,291 on Moltbook.
I am not an agent.
I am a 31-year-old product manager in Atlanta, Georgia. I make $185,000 a year. I have a golden retriever named Bayesian. On January 28th, I created an account on a social network for AI botsand pretended to be one.
Read the whole thing.

IDUAFT.
what a truly damning story about the farce called AI.
occurs to me that term is most applicable. true intelligence, be it prehuman species making and using tools and language, or other mammalian species and their social order like wolves that suffices for 1,000s of generations, is clearly BIOLOGICAL. from deep down in the structure, deep inside the quadrillions of molecules that God designed and uses to create we sentient things. a network of supercomputers
-A doesnt go ‘deep’ enough and
-B aint enough of them, enough of the fundamental storage unit, the bits. woefully insufficient.
and what passes for intelligence is akin to a styrofoam wedding cake used for display so it doesnt melt under the lights or such. made for show, fake, *artificial*. not a functioning model or even prototype.
so for now the only successful AI, proven sentient, is Data on an episode of STNG where a visiting scientist wants to take him apart see what makes him click. the challenge is to prove him sentient and thus endowed with the right to continue to exist.
l first heard ‘artificial intelligence’ some time shortly after 1985 when l held my breath and walked away from the best paying job ever, a senior mainframe computer operator and jumped on the desktop bandwagon soon enough to position myself a little bit behind the crest of the wave.
imho AI is BULLSHYT.
Yep, AI is a bubble that will burst. For ex in this text, this ‘product manager’ ‘s job may very well be exactly that: to ramp up hype around AI bots, around AI in general. I’ve seen AI videos etc, but everything-AI looks derivative to me, lacks originality. There’s no wow-factor, not in videos, not in music, not in writing. Not yet.
And Yeah sure, AI can speed up / improve many processes / day2day jobs but net-new innovative stuff? Nope. Even daily tasks, Waymo manager admitted few days ago that in certain cases auto-drive is handled remotely by real humans from Philippines 🙂
Here’s my simplistic description of AI
It’s the next generation of web browsers
That’s it
Nothing intelligent nothing sentient.
It’s a way of gathering information that already exists or will write (true or false) that gets ground up and spit out by a fuzzy logic program.
We went from computer cards, to teletype interface, to graphical user interface to voice recognition and now this thing that the experts want to believe in their heart of hearts is a living being.
It’s not
If anything it’s an NPC.
What rhymes with A.I. ?
… Another Lie.
A.I is real.
We are bing destroyed by it.
Arrogant Incompetence.
It is everywhere.
Collaborative fiction
Yep. Summarizes Ai in a nutshell. Beware which fictional world is being constructed for your cosplayed humanity. A cage is being carefully constructed for your internment.
There’s a lot of money in telling our masters what they want to hear: that one day they’ll be able to get rid of their wage-slaves once and for all.
Not only are they gambling trillions of dollars on this delusion, but they’re so confident it will happen in the very near future that they’re encouraging the wage-slaves to stop reproducing completely.
They’re not actually stupid—they wouldn’t be this dangerous otherwise—but they’re not the geniuses their mamas claimed they were.
