Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Not to worry though … Canada is developing new mediocre trading partners. All is well!
It’s started during COVID it’s all friggin theater now with props
If this doesn’t have a Lucy holding the football vibe to it…nothing does.
I’ll leave it to the readership as to who they think Charlie Brown might be.
The only thing surprising to me at this point is anyone still believing anything Marx says that is in any way positive for western Canada.
It shouldn’t surprise you, Canadians are the weakest, most cowardly and disgusting examples of humanity on the planet. They surrender their rights, firearms and culture without even a bleat. The same reason Western separatism goes nowhere. They are afraid and need mommy government to hold their hands. Shithole.
Can Ahh Duh..Duh!
An example of a response to the inevitable question asked in the near future
“Of course we signed a memorandum of understanding, we totally understand that you wanted a pipeline but you never got a commitment we would do anything to actually allow that to happen”
The residents of the over-represented Maritimes, Montréal, Ottawa, Québec City, Toronto and Vancouver still think that unicorn farts and welfare will supply all the power Kanada needs.
Blah blah blah. And the west will…? Simper, cry and complain then do what Ottawa says like the cowards that they are. Shithole.
My prediction on how Carney would handle Alberta’s threat to secede would be to stall. An MOU was the perfect tool for that. IOW, always keep your mark anticipating “better days” just over the horizon. Incidentally, China played that same game in the “trade agreement” with Canada by getting concessions on EV’s while simultaneously saying they’d consider the tariffs on Canadian agricultural exports a number of months from now. That’s not a commitment. That’s a stall.
But, the Liberal government by not playing along with Carney, or being too stupid to understand that their actions have to coincide with his to give the MOU weight. What they should have done was punt. Given the ole’ “We’ll revisit this down the road.” Instead, they flat out voted on it and shot it down definitively. Regulations stay in place, and they aren’t going anywhere. That’s the message. And, I’d wager the whine was heard in Alberta. There’s Ideological. There’s idiots. Then there is the House of Commons (Ideological Idiots).
Incidentally, it was, of course, the House of Commons that came of with the Clarity Law that defines the requirements to secede. There is no clarity in the law in that it requires a “Clear majority” (undefined) and a “Clear will of the people” (even less defined). They’re counting on the ability to tie any secession movement up in Liberal courts to define those terms to their benefit. So, they submarined Carney’s effort to stall, sabotage the secession momentum in Alberta, make unresolved promises, and win the referendum based on that.
I was wondering if there was anyone who actually believed for a minute that the MOU wasn’t yet another obvious mechanism to say no for the millionth time, but one which would take years to do so.
Kinda like when fake-conservative Jesuit Jason Kenney spent his time having pointless conversations with Ottawa. And asking Albertans pointless questions when he already knew their thoughts. Just waiting out the clock…
Almost like this is all scripted to provide conservative voters with false hope, while bolstering the supposed conservative credentials of “federalist” provincial politicians.
Yet another staged, “well, we tried.”
And achieved nothing, as was obvious from the outset.
If Carney was going to do anything meaningful on the Alberta energy file, he would have done it right after the election. He didn’t. All of Trudeau’s terrible anti-energy legislation remains in place. Instead Carney negotiated this pointless memorandum of understanding without any actual commitment to remove the Trudeau obstacles standing in the energy industry’s way. Then, not long after the MoU announcement, the Liberals voted against their own MoU agreement in Parliament. So saying the MoU is “a pinkie promise which governments sign when they don’t know what else to do” is giving the agreement far more credibly than it deserves.
The agreement carries as much of a chance of succeeding as the Liberals promiss to plant 2 million trees, build 500,000 houses, bring down grocery prices, renegotiate a US trade deal in 2025, not run huge budget deficits and make life more affordable for the middle class. They are all empty promises made by an incompetent, dishonest government.
Was at the Premier’s dinner last night. We in Alberta are very fortunate to have a very capable person such as Danielle Smith as Premier. Is she perfect? No, and I invite anyone that is perfect to please come forward.
She is walking a razor thin tightrope around the desire of many of us to leave this trash “country” and avoiding anything that splits the vote. The very worst thing that could happen would be that Nenshi gets in. If that happens, the whole (and I mean WHOLE) place slides into the abyss. Nenshi is very, very willing to use as much of other people’s money as possible to aid and abet his comrades in the ROC.
The MOU, when it comes to a pipeline, is really a bad joke. However, it has allowed a lot of NG power projects to be taken off the shelf and data centres to actually have a chance. At least there is that possibility to allow some growth and utilize the incredible NG assets we have.
I was quite pleased that there were many in attendance that have already signed the petition or were planning on it.
I figure this is as good a place as any to drop this email I just received from PG&E …
Dear PG&E Customer:
You are invited to participate in PG&E’s Virtual Information Session on Pilot Neighborhood Decarbonization Programs. The session will provide information on Senate Bill 1221 and the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) voluntary program to identify priority neighborhoods for potential projects that may transition some gas customers to cost‑effective, zero‑emission alternatives.
Senate Bill 1221 allows up to 30 pilot projects across California to help transition some neighborhoods from natural gas to cleaner, zero-emission energy options. The CPUC is developing the rules for this program in Rulemaking 24-09-012.
So … I JUST installed brand new Nat. Gas furnace and tankless WH. Both of which are 95% efficient … and my 2” pvc exhaust pipe releases 5% or less unburned Nat. Gas. and water vapor into the atmosphere. The Trump EPA is simultaneously CANCELLING the “endangerment finding” hence certifying the burning of fossil fuels is NOT endangering anyone or anything.
God, I have GOT to leave this broken State.
