  1. TPS is in full blown damage control mode. The contemptuous “Us vs. Them” unwritten rule of the “brotherhood” is taking a big hit from the public who may finally have had enough.
    BTW – Is there a Toronto Police swim team we don’t know about? Seems everyone in the TPS hierarchy and lower are sporting hairless pumpkins.

  4. L – I’m old enough to remember, when it was called “Toronto the Good!” Those were the days my friends… I wonder what Sgt.(retired) Donald Best, who specialized in rooting out police corruption, has to say.

    1. Yeah, the good old days – TPA Union head Craig Brommel directing his on duty flying monkeys to harass and tail Toronto council members home at night because they said no to police budget increases.
      The Cherry Hill Express – Toronto police beating the shit out of people at headquarters and dropping them off in Cherry Hill …a suburb of TO. It was so well known in the GTA there was a song written about it. Warren Kinsella mentioned it quite often back in the day but is strangely quiet now. Likely busy perusing furniture ads.

      Toronto police strip searching “civilians” for even minor offenses for the express purpose of humiliation until they had their asses sued off by a visiting British tourist.

      We’ve all seen this movie before. Rinse repeat.

    l just sent a text msg to a beloved lady friend who had to put up with a sexually harassing ‘squatter’ cost her $5000 lost rental income he was scaring away the good ones.
    according to local conSTABulary the txt msgs were ‘roommate banter’.
    and the fact he broke down a door to get back in, they opined ‘yawell yawell he WARRRNED YA.
    and the 7 area cops who wound up dead after moi got laughed at reporting a theft are . . . .
    still dead!!! my my my.

  11. What I love about all this is that for 30 years -I’ve- been the bad one for suggesting that maybe gun control is not a great idea. Because historically this cop situation is 1000% predictable. They -always- do it.

    And jeez, doesn’t all this put a whole new complexion on the little incident in Port Dover a couple years ago?

    Rodger Kotanko. Fat old guy. Popular guy, lots of return customers, many of them policemen. Shot four times by the Toronto cops, because… well, we’re not sure. But the police investigated themselves thoroughly, and found that it was all good. So, nothing to worry about. Move along.

        The Rodger Kotanko shooting stinks like week-old flounder. They brought their own ambulance. From Toronto. All the way to Port Dover, okay? Sh0t the old man nine freaking times, according to the report. Three cops, one fired five rounds point blank, the other two cops fired two rounds each, leaving the guy not merely de@d, but really quite sincerely de@d.

        With a witness, standing there. We haven’t heard much from that guy. Dog not barking.

    3. The officer who fired wasn’t identified in the SIU report, (which is required under the SIU enabling law), but does the TPS give all it’s officers nickel plated cartridge cases?

  12. Following up on “kritter”s comment about police.
    Watched “The Christine Jessop Story” doc the other night. If there’s ever a text book case for having a lawyer present while being interviewed by police this has to be it.
    Good Grief!!! Once neighbours deemed him to be a little “strange” because he played the clarinet at times was enough for police to begin the steamrolling process of pinning the murder on Guy Paul Morin.
    Cops aren’t your friends.

      and l remember they interviewed the 2 defective detectives as to why they focussed on the clarinet player.’ oh we figured we had him, so you know, other suspects were dismissed’. the woman defective was in tears. ‘tunnel vision here we go, get a conviction the truth is an inconvenience now’

  13. In El Salvador the cops were allowed to finally get criminal gangs off the streets.

    This resulted in:

    1. the “mainstream” parties in league with the gangs collapsing

    2. their leaders going to prison themselves

    3. the pro-gang media folding or going into exile

    4. El Salvador becoming the safest country in the Americas, with honest Salvadorans’ human rights still being respected.

    For this they call Nayib Bukele a dictator.

    In Canada the cops make fortunes serving as enforcers for criminal gangs.

    This results in:

    1. the gangs’ remaining immensely profitable and able to share the profits both with the cops and the Liberal party

    2. neither the cops nor the Libranos being held accountable

    3. the media turning a blind eye to it all

    4. the human rights of Canadians who aren’t mobbed up being treated as a sick joke.

    For this they call Mark Carney the leader of the free world.

  15. An “acquaintance” of mine is a state trooper in New Jersey. This past summer I mentioned to him about the Karen Reid trial in Massachusetts and how it revealed utterly corrupt the police AND state attorneys were up there, attempting to frame an innocent woman for murder. He said something to the effect of, “yeah, I think it’s great”, essentially saying how awesome it is that they have that level of power. Needless to say, I don’t think all that much of him anymore.

    The perception of conflict of interest does more to destroy public confidence and faith in the watchmen than their acts of corruption.

    The laws and rules are for those who have no impulse control,no adherence to The Golden Rule..

    A morality play put on for the benefit of the slow to learn.
    When the performance cost exceeds the benefit?
    The show goes under.
    The “roles” of society..
