    Drive slowly near the shore; you don’t know what the waves are doing below the ice.

    1. from way way back hiking and spending winter days at lake erie l LONG learned because sand ie rock can release heat faster, that shorelines were the first to freeze and same token, first to thaw.

      l hope the idjits insurance company gets a copy of the vid in a ‘plain brown envelope’.

      1. I just hope he got out of the car and made-it to shore – but it would be kinda’ fitting if the replacement vehicle came out of his wallet…

  2. I know of a young mother who went off the road into a prairie slough and people came to try to help her. She had her baby with her and they rescued the baby but she died before they could get her out.

  3. That’s my father after he gets the paper out of the mail box. Then he calls me on his emergency bat phone. It can go either way, old age. Mentor or child.

    Also, a few ice fishermen lost their shacks and skidoos.
    Ice can be dicey

  6. Think people Think!! What happens to water under the ICE when you are burning circles on it. SUV weighs +-4000lbs, doing what was taking place, they were creating a [vacuum & vibration] creating a collapsing of Ice.
