You Don’t Hate the Media Nearly Enough

An SDA regular noticed something odd with this article at CBC “News”:

Eight people have been arrested for allegedly accepting bribes for commercial driver examinations in Kingston and the Greater Toronto Area, said the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Investigators discovered bribes were used to gain “favourable consideration” during road examinations for the commercial Class A license at certain locations, said the OPP in a news release.

The investigation into fraudulent commercial driver exams was prompted last January at the request of the Ministry of Transportation, they said.

As our sleuthy citizen reporter mentioned, here’s betting the names of the charged are: Murphy, Davis, MacDonald, Harrison, Tremblay, Penner, Geisbrecht, and Jones.

    1. Hilarious we get the goods from “Truck News” while the mainstream can’t seem to mention who’s getting busted.

As well, it seems pretty rich to be talking about “favourable consideration” when they’re openly selling Class A’s to anybody with cash.

I’m going to speculate that this rot has crept a lot higher than a few test examiners. You’d have to co-opt half the Ministry of Transport to do it, and the other half would all certainly know about it. Orders from the top telling everybody to shut up would be necessary.

Just one more reason to dislike #BlubberDouggie. Freakin’ MASSIVE corruption in the trucking industry, and nobody is doing nothing. CBC can’t even mention the names? Are you kidding me?

  1. The way it works is like this:

Ann Coulter’s theorem on naming a criminal
Ann Coulter’s theorem on naming a criminal posits that the longer it takes for the media to identify a perpetrator of an outrageous crime, the less likely it is that the perpetrator is a white male.

This is very much undeniable fact.

  2. No different than the story out of London Ontario about the “men” arrested for possession of explosive making materials and unlicensed firearms from a residence close to the university. One of the suspects was already under arrest for trespassing on the university grounds attempting to enter the engineering buildings.
Thus far London police have not released the names of said “men”.

    1. Jerry Tong 27 of Ottawa
      Zekun Wang 26 of London
Fei (Frank) Han 25 of London
Feiyang ( Astrid) Ji 21 of London

Not the usual suspects I was thinking about.

      1. God forgive me for my evil thoughts, but these names remind me of that video where the female News announcer is very careful to pronounce the Chinese names (Sum Ting Wong etc) of a plane which crashed.
