I woke up this morning to see that a TDS-ravaged Facebook group administrator had lost his/her/their/its mind:
14 Replies to “Sign of the Times”
Under the rules of the group is “4. No Hate Speach – Degrading comments about race, culture, sexual orientation, gender, identity, immigrants, migrants, minorities, or the disabled will not be tolerated. Ridicule and scorn of right-wing extremists and fascists is allowed, within Facebook’s limitations.” This directly contradicts the preceding rule: “3. Be Relevant – Posts should be about the Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. Posts about Nikon or about photography in general may be allowed ….”
Be Helpful, Tolerant and Patient
No Hate Speech
A peculiar facet of the progressive mindset which has always niggled at me is their total lack of self awareness. It really warrants a study of some kind.
Admins are Erica, who projects masculinity, and Chloe, who prefers a girlfriend at the beach.
I was going to say, “a couple of overweight pink, blue, purple haired dykes.”
Their politics are all-consuming…
“Sure, we can defeat the MAGA fascists… but we’ll need a whole lotta Gleichschaltung to do it!”
This is a very serious psychosis. Yesterday was listening to CJOB radio in Winnipeg and the talk show host launched into the most unhinged rant about Trump I have ever heard from a so called professional. Among other things he said Trump was a pathological liar, a waste of skin, a waste of oxygen, a criminal, a child rapist, it was totally off the deep end. And that was not a crazy caller. That was the actual host saying that.
I’ve not listened to ‘OB in months, was it Cloutier or Mackling?
I buy and sell a fair amount of vintage type items on kijiji and FB Market Place, and it’s been rare to see political push like the above photo being brought into it, am doubtful it helps sell their items.
My camera of choice was the slightly out of date Fujifilm X-Pro w Zeiss 12mm or Fujifilm 23 1.4 … I sold both to actual leftists, a CRA guy and a French social democrat (I did see their FB profiles and note their cash was the same as mine) while I wait out this year of being without a real camera and hopefully Fuji has an X-Pro 4 soon. I say this while noting the price of red meat in the grocery stores as if “Marc what are you thinking?”
I’ve included the line, “Made in Canada back in the days when Canadians built quality items”. For a Steelcase office chair made in Don Mills Ontario. Nobody has asked for clarification on this, they know what I mean.
It is more common to mention some tools being made of “Chineseium” … one could easily make a case for including this info from a safety point of view.
my old lady is a photographer in Saskatchewan and the photography Facebook groups are cesspools of TDS and Liberal mind rot. It’s no wonder so many photographers who wannabe something else, suffer from TDS
Knitters had this happen to them in 2019 when the world’s largest knitting site, with millions of users, declared that people who voted for Trump were all white supremacists and would not be allowed to talk politics at all, while the left could continue to say whatever they wanted. (They had what I consider the foolish policy of allowing politics in the first place.) Anyone who tried to protest was banned. Leftists are purging anyone who doesn’t think like them, even if they share interests that don’t involve politics. The political is personal after all.
It was a Kodak moment.
Here in the SF Bay Area … I live and work in one GIANT TDS Facebook Group. It can’t be ignored, turned off, or avoided. It’s everywhere, and it’s miserable. Miserable people, living angry miserable lives.
Five years ago Nikon made a woke decision to quit manufacturing rifle scopes. At the same time I made a decision to never buy a Nikon product again.
Nikon were losing “more money than they usually lose” in that time period, some point to the Europeans giving Nikon a hard time over it, but I never hear of Zeiss, Leica, or Swarvoski having to put up with that crap.
“Crimson Trace” bought some of the Nikon tooling, they’re owned by Smith and Wesson who bought them a decade ago. I’ve never even seen a Crimson Trace scope in real life.
