    1. More people get polio from the vaccine than from other reasons. At one time polio was limited to remote Afghanistan where ignorant 7th century savages that thought injections were bad. Somebody thought that using the oral vaccine was more acceptable despite causing a few cases. When I was a young pup we started with injections and had oral booster. We already had immunity and the oral booster increased the immunity.

      1. I read that when the original Polio vaccine came out they used the live virus to stimulate antibodies and that resulted in some 46,000 children getting Polio. Then they got it right. Makes you wonder if the new scientists ever read what the old scientists did wrong. I got injections back in the 1960s. There was no saying “no thanks” and if I declined I’m sure my parents would have brought me back to school in a bucket.

  4. Jamie Dimon (JP Morgan) suggests a 10% limit on credit cards would be a disaster.

    “It would remove credit from 80 per cent of Americans, and that is their back-up credit,” Dimon, longtime chief of JPMorgan and Wall Street’s most influential banker, said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

    So 20% of us have to pay for the bad credit of the other 80%?

    “I think we should test it,” Dimon said. “The government can do it, they should force all the banks to do it in two states – Vermont and Massachusetts – and see what happens.”

    So test it in Bernie Sanders’ and Elisabeth Warren’s states? Love it!

    “Credit cards generate strong returns for banks, which charge high rates to compensate for the greater risk of default on card loans, which are unsecured.”

    Banks could handle lower profits if it means lower costs for strapped customers, right?

  21. I suspect the people who came up with this and approved of it, wanted the Dutch to get a taste of Islamic culture.
