You know things are getting tough when McDonald’s freezes the price of a small coffee and value meals. In a sagging economy, producers simply can’t jack up prices in the face of consumers without the means to afford them.
She announced Tuesday that McDonald’s Canada will freeze the price of a small cup of coffee at $1 for at least a year and drop the price of its McValue meals to $5 for the same duration.
“Canadians are facing challenges and are insecure financially. What we are doing is listening and giving them what they want,” she said.

muck donnies is not actually food…. I never go there lol
… and their slightly dark boiling water … isn’t coffee either.
McDonalds bought the Tim Hortons recipe and Tim Hortons bought a new recipe which explains why McDonalds coffee tastes better than Tim Hortons (yes, a low bar).
Prices have gotten out of control.
McDs used to be the cheap meal. In a twisted way, it still is.
Had our grandson over a month ago, we got a meal there, his Happy Meal, and for the two of us.
$45. For McCheap burger, fries and drink.
$45. And, it’s just not that good at all. The other McFastFoods? They will cost even more, Burger Things, Dairy Queen, etc, etc.
Went for breakfast with extended family at Denny’s on Sunday. $5 each for a coffee, though the meals were reasonable, have to admit.
So glad to be making much better food at home 99% of the time.
The restaurant industry is out of control. Their costs are extremely high with no end in sight, yet, there’s lineups still to pay. What gives?
Again, the article and its author, lost all credibility as soon as the mythical “climate change” was blamed.
Ob another note, we make our own version of the egg-sausage mcmuffin. Tastes much better.
I must admit a fondness for MacDonalds bacon egg and cheese biscuit. There’s not a whole lot of adulteration, and it’s yummy. Could I make better biscuits from scratch at home? Buy better ‘Canadian bacon’ rounds … of course … but … I rarely eat breakfast.
What do you expect when the government takes all your discretionary income?
At the risk of sounding cynical, a friend of mine who ran a downtown coffee joint once told me the markup on a cup of coffee.
If you’re selling…it’s a license to print money.
Does any one remember the dollar value meal?
Speaking of Tim’s and McD. I am ok with either coffee. In my town, McD is across the street from Tim’s. I usually go to Tim’s for the morning coffee break to socialize about 4 times a week. But I am on the verge of deserting to McD. The reason? McD here has a policy that keeps the riff raff homeless bums out, if you come in, you buy something. No snoozing. At Tim’s nothing is done about the half dozen or so homeless who hang out there often snoozing and often without buying a coffee. Ok, you can call me heartless.
