The Russians could never pull off a similar mission, despite their bluster.
They tried to assassinate Zelensky in Kiev, just 100 kms, by land, from their own border, under cover of war (Whoops! 4 day Special military operation). They failed.
Florida to Caracas is more than 2,100 kms, over the ocean. Something similar for the Russians would be to kidnap the President of Taiwan, in Taipei about 2,200 kms from Vladivostok. The Russians just don’t have the skills or reliable hardware.
