Travelling through Europe I was appalled by the number of windmills cluttering up the landscape; I was shocked by the number that were not turning on windy days.
There are also a lot of solar farms cluttering up the landscape.
Approval will depend on the kickbacks. Has to be high but not high enough to get too much attention.
Curiously, no one brought up the crappy economics of wind compared to coal, gas and nuclear generated power.
