      It begs one to ask, doesn’t it? Where was the Conservative Party, didn’t they research and review, in detail, the budget?
      Scan it, then instruct AI to analyze, review, and give a Cole’s Notes overview.
      This will avoid any pesky SNC-Lavalin scenarios going forward. Legislated cronyism.

    It doesn’t seem normal for a gov’t to sneak in this sort of thing. Would someone let the Loyal Opposition know so they’ll be able to address this issue, I welcome the response from the gov’t … “Mr. Speaker, the Loyal Opposition doesn’t support the gov’t in our efforts to do what’s best for Canadians….”
    etc…

    And then nothing of consequence until June 2026 when The President cancels the Can US Mex Free Trade Agreement… about the same time as the next recession is hitting the news, while food inflation is rising well above American rates, and Marx Carnage continues his world wide romp to save Brookefield’s balance sheets from mediocracy.

  4. I believe Carney has been transparent from the get-go – he’s an autocrat.
    The Liberal Party of Canada has never been transparent in my lifetime.
    Its a great combo bringing about a dystopic reality.

    1. The CCP were as sick of Justin’s making a spectacle of himself as the rest of us. They’ve accepted that President Trump and his movement are not going anywhere, and recruited someone at least competent to run the Red Chinese satellite state on the United States’ northern border.

      1. The funniest thing about it, is that there are plenty of people out there, at large, who think Trump’s ‘Monroe Doctrine v2.0’ refers to territory exclusively south of the U.S. They are in for a treat..

  13. I never thought I’d see someone be so brazen as to actually legislate cronyism.

    Obviously, it’s a control mechanism that forces corporations and individuals to patronize the government and do whatever they are told to do. Lest their competitors get an advantage that compromises their market share. It’s the only way to institute all encompassing Green Policies on those parties not inclined to go along with the zealots while simultaneously providing an exemption to the lackeys who voluntarily are committing financial seppuku.

    I can’t imagine this is legal. And, suppose by some miracle the “conservatives” retake control within those six years. They could, conceivably, nullify every single Liberal piece of legislation.

    This seems to be negotiation fodder that’s dead on arrival. Too much of a risk (for both sides).

  15. The government can’t declare martial law on people peacefully protesting in the streets, either. What consequences have they suffered for that violation of the Constitution?

    The government can do whatever the citizenry allows them to get away with.
