  1. Good money after bad; and precisely why I no longer hold any shares of Enbridge.
“We can despoil your landscape, but at least there will be blackouts.”

  2. Re. icebreakers: let the Arctic be the Arctic — we don’t need to have year-round shipping out of Churchill (at enormous cost) when all that would be routed that way can reach tidewater easier via infrastructure that already exists, or should be built, in the South. Yes, the NIMBYs, but it’s time Canadian voters were freed of the conceit that there is pride in maintaining, in arguably the most richly endowed country in the world, an economy that just barely keeps us housed and fed — too often by government. The weak-kneed Conservatives (crossing over to the Lieberal camp ??); with no cathartic General Pinochet in sight, need to mount an all-out attack on the leftist propaganda network, countering its message of submission with bold visionary policies that will give reason for national pride..

We can only fantasize about that, sadly. Poilievre keeps deluding himself that he can somehow out-Liberal the Liberals. He knows what his positions *should* be on Donald Trump, climate change, residential schools, transgender stuff, ‘supply management’, etc…he just doesn’t have the courage or the integrity to address any of it. He thinks he can mollify the left and the undecided voters by taking weak-kneed Liberal Lite positions on everything, as if that will fool Canadians into thinking he is somehow ‘safe’ to vote for.

It’s a strategy doomed to failure. His popularity numbers are going down, as he is now losing the conservative base as well as the undecideds.

      1. Sure Fred, and the 1 in 10 Canadians with a backbone would vote for that, the other 90% are weak, coward sheep who need mommy government to hold their pathetic hands.

Enbridge disappoints me, rent seeking subsidy whores never prosper. Making electricity at 4 times the cost it could be made for makes no sense, ever.

  3. Why not a million barrel pipeline to Thunder Bay and have lake freighters take it as far as Montreal and all points in between on both sides of the border. Also have a couple lock friendly ocean going ships to go to the east coast of New Brunswick where a pipeline can carry it to St. John. The whiny guy bitches in Quebec can’t complain because they already get oil by tanker. There would have to be storage at various destination locations for when the locks freeze up.

  4. Brian, have you considered an “Adventures of Landman” cartoon superhero strip? With the right talented artist you could have a hoot with it and still be highly educational.
