  1. The Japanese love wood. When I worked in the forest industry, we sold a couple of large yellow cedar logs under special permit (Red and Yellow cedar log exports were and still are banned) for Shrine entrances. The Shinto priests came over to pour a little salt around the standing tree and toast its blessing wit Saki (the faller liked that) before falling it. Custom cutting mills here would sell large squared cedar timbers to auctions in Tokyo based on photos of all sides and if there was a footprint visible on any view, it would be rejected as it showed lack of respect for the wood.

  2. My kid just bought his first 3d printer … and I’m sure he’d have this all printed inside a couple weeks … all by himself. AI rules!
