It’s hard to imagine that anyone with a shred of moral conscience could face themselves day after day after delivering a judgement which brazenly excuses such psychopathic behavior.
Mr. Garlow is the personification of intergenerational trauma. I cannot imagine more sympathetic circumstances or mitigating factors that cry out for some compassion. Punishing him with a further period of incarceration for the sake of the common good would be unjust,” wrote Justice Brenda Green, who recently handed Garlow a suspended sentence and three years of probation.
The judge saw a “clear, causal nexus between his father’s brutalization in residential schools and the trail of damage and devastation that slammed like a wrecking ball through the next generation. I cannot imagine a case with a more shocking example of the detrimental impact of colonialism, intergenerational trauma and the attempted cultural genocide by seizing children from their communities only to be placed in horribly abusive environments.”

My aunt and uncles had one of these horribly abusive foster homes. They raised the Indian kid just like their own and when she married a white engineer they paid for the wedding. They were truly nasty people.
The parents and grandparents of the last generation of residential school students also attended residential schools and voluntarily enrolled them. They hadn’t been told how destructive the schools were.
My grandfather was brutalized in the trenches of France from 1915 to 1918. He survived five gas attacks, which adversely affected his health.
Similar for other ancestors.
Do I get a pass too?
We’ll be resorting to medieval judicial practices soon, thrown in the lake and innocent if you sink. And I love our race based justice system.
Mercy to the criminal is cruelty to his victim.
Liberals don’t have the mental capacity to see consequences.
Their minds are too shallow and their thinking is too one dimensional.
Here they are rewarding the criminal and encouraging more native victimhood and lying.
Which means more real victims of these criminals.
Stupidity might be a factor.
“A strong message must be sent to deter like-minded individuals from carrying a loaded firearm by meting out a significant punishment.”
Unless they’re native, that is.
1. People don’t personify.
2. What’s the “clear causal nexus” to the victims?
The ‘church’ approves this sentencing.
I knew, even before looking, that the judge was female. Only the female of the species can come up with a judgement entirely based on emotion and attempt to make it look rational. Women have a lot to answer for when it comes to tearing down western civilization based on feelz.
Yeah, he didn’t even attend a residential school, yet the judge felt the need to use that as an excuse for his criminal behavior…and of course throw in some anti-gun hysteria too.
We’ll revisit this story, I’m sure, at some future date when he either kills someone or is killed himself. This decision definitely will not age well either way.
C’mon man! Who doesn’t carry a flamethrower in their trunk, when a rifle just isn’t enough to bag that fawn?
Aren’t Judges supposed to use good judgement?
She recounted in detail … how this “kid” is a lifelong recidivist. He was rejected by his father, turned his life around, then went back to alcoholism, drugs and crime. So … “society” … made him what he is, eh? Geeze … Emilio Estevez has better judgement than this “progressive” Judge. Just another woman practicing suicidal empathy.

What do you call a failed lawyer?
Your Honour.
