  1. Oh, that’s a shame. 😀

I’ll bet right this very minute there are hundreds of workers climbing all over the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou province (which is prone to earthquakes). It’s their crown jewel of new bridges. It would be a shame if something would happen to it.

  2. You might want to check the soil engineering report on the North anchorage …
OTOH … the Dear Leader said; “get that bridge built, or you and your entire family will be disappeared”

      1. So … about 7 times longer than their power tools. And might I add … their knock off power tool rechargeable batteries.

  3. In the words of that wise Chinese sage, Stevie Nicks…… the landslide bring it down
    Or is it ransride?…I dunno.
Tell you what’s impressive is the cantilever that’s hanging on like grim death. And that folks is why we have rebar.

  4. Chowmadillo in Mandarin means “hoe-ree shit joe”, loosely translated of course.

I was there in 1986 shortly after a school had collapsed killing 400 children. When rebuilding they made every worker carve his name into a block that was later set as a corner stone. The idea was to instill a sense of responsibility with a side order of threat. I wonder who signed this bridge?

    1. Structural engineers Sum Ting Wong and Ho Lee Fuk, probably. If they finished that Asiana Airlines crash report.

  5. Looks like a landslide on that end started first. It wasn’t that the bridge was bad, it’s just not built on solid ground.
