Even at surface level, the press corps was visibly distracted from its first duty to citizens: scrutinizing a historically large budget packed with nation-building promises and unanswered questions about feasibility. Veteran reporters have already acknowledged this.

The new PM of Japan should be working to change the wording of their constitution which has kneecapped their military since 1945. It’s long been long enough since then and there’s no need to continue those restrictions.
