It’s unfortunate that Alberta still has too many of the “My Canada includes Québec” retards still living here. We’ll never achieve anything of value as long as we continue to cater to those who hate us.
It’s not really about resources, equalisation or pipelines; it’s a difference in attitudes. Conservatives, predominant in rural Canada and especially in the West, view growth (private, that is) as a benefit to all, while Easterners (Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec and Atlantic) are content to live off their legacy wealth .. replacing its shortfalls with demands that the government provide what they want. SW British Columbia, every large city, and said Easterners tend to look down their noses at “money-grubbing enterprisers” even to the point where they plaintively suffer hardship due to their roadblocks in the way of creating wealth.
