▶️ admits if he had to start over they’d scrap it but it was a campaign promise
▶️ blames pressure from Quebec (electorate, caucus, Provost?)
▶️ implies it won’t be enforced?
▶️ admits gun owners will not get fair compensation
▶️ offers to pay constituent the difference lol
▶️ offers to pay bail for constituent if he practises non compliance and gets arrested

  1. “money pot “capped” at $742M”

There are at least half a million guns in question here, that they know of. That means you get a hundred bucks each if you’re lucky.

But what it really means is that they set aside money for (some of) the retailers, and private citizens get nothing.

Many of the guns on the list cost thousands of dollars. They’re going to take your stuff and pay you nothing. Same as last time, but this time they’re embarrassed enough to lie about it.

Everyone will recall that “last time” something like 10% of people signed up, those being the ones that had to comply for business reasons. Nobody else participated.

I don’t even write about this stuff anymore. Honestly, there’s no point to it. Normies are blind and deaf, everybody else already knows and all talking about it does is wind us all up.

They hate you, and they’re going to take your stuff. And they’ll lie-deny-divert-distract FOREVER while they do it. There you go.

  2. All hail the State.
    Of Thuggery.
We have rewarded people who lie to us, for so long that they cannot even bother to pretend not to lie.
Every single Liberal is responsible for this mess.
We have a Prime Minister and The Minister of “Public Safety” lying to our face.
Now it is possible that both are just completely clueless of their own gun laws.
But these are Criminal Charges the gun owner faces..
And the whole gun laws exercise has repeatedly shown the dishonesty and ignorance of our politicians.

I do not know why they fear guns so..for all mine do,when left to themselves,is gather dust and maybe rust.
So the need to separate from Canada, becomes more obvious every day.
For our Comrades to the East continue to reward these fools and bandits, over and over again.

    Elbows Up! Chicken dancers.

“Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”―George Washington

  4. Hmmmm…let me check my handy 2025 fed election map… ah yes, here it is, folks – Methinks the gun confiscation kickoff should be a resounding success. That’s right Cape Breton…With a Mi’kmaq paddy whack give’em all your guns… . Be a leader among lemmings and show Australians they’re all pikers. “You can do it!!”
Thought I’d use reverse phycology for a change. After the “Elbows Up” campaign I’ve discovered there’s really no end to Canadian boot lickery so anything’s worth a try at this point…besides, hating on conservatives should be the new national sport so I’m way past GAS.

    1. “Oh, he was the biggest Miq’maq that you have ever seen, his father he was Orange and his mother she was Green…”

  5. I wonder if our “Public Safety Minister” will find some way to get the Tamil Tigers going again by supplying them with confiscated Canadian weapons?

  6. The provinces which are fully dependent upon gov’t intergenerational welfare handouts / equalization, +/- 20% of the Atlantic province’s budgets are from the “have provinces” and the federal gov’t kicking in the rest of freshly printed dollars… so of course they comply.

It’s how their daddy wants it.

  7. Another example of Liberal Party desperation; “voluntary” as in, unenforceable.
It’s all talk; Arse EMP too timid to confiscate unless entire populations are evacuated beforehand
ie High River, convinces any potential third party contractors to decline outright.

They really believe confiscating private property will help extend their tenuous grip on power for one more day.
RRSP’s, Home Equity… they’ve convinced themselves firearms ‘should’ be the easy first grab.

These maroons aren’t even good tyrants.
    Mock them endlessly.

  8. Suggestion: Call up the RCMP and police force responsible for Parliament Hill protection and report felony violations of all politicians in possession of a standard letter opener in their offices. This is a direct violation of the “zero tolerance” policy with that specific locale. There is a direct restriction on “Penetrating objects (sharp or pointed tips)”. This is subject to prosecution and penalty.

  9. “blames pressure from Quebec (electorate, caucus, Provost?)”

With the exception of Quebec, arguments for and against firearms are largely determined along rural-urban lines across Canada. Through our outfitting business and tradeshows I have met lots of Quebec hunters over the past twenty years, and with only a few exceptions the majority were either ambivalent about our firearms legislation or fully supportive.

  10. Heh, I’m gonna laugh and laugh if (when?!) the Jihadis start blowing up and shooting shit up.
    Just laugh.
Shitholes devolve into either terrorist states or totalitarian states – both are ruled by the gun.
Free nations have law-abiding gun owners and are ruled by free citizens.

  11. “The total number of impacted ASFs is estimated to be approximately 144,000. This figure is an estimate as only some of the firearms were previously restricted, and therefore registered with the Canadian Firearms Program. Industry estimates are much higher at 518,000.”
    $742 000 000.
    By their own numbers.
Costs of $1400 to $5000 per firearm.
Given the proven past performance of government schemes that will balloon to x5 with no effort at all.

Now I am not adverse to government gifting me $25 000 per firearm, but we all know that ain’t how they work.
Administration ,with bonuses will consume 3 billion dollars and the gun owner will get the “Take $ 100 or Jail “choice.
