Lets see, in 2021 Ron, whom I knew for over 50 years, started a rant about how dirty China was, so I pulled my phone out, and showed him China. He was shocked, at how modern and clean China is. I will file that statement that I quoted under the same pile of BULLSHIT.
It’s a 3rd-world country with a 1st-world veneer, much of which are empty buildings.
There is some gorgeous scenery all over the country, but if you stay in the modern or touristy parts of the major cities, you don’t see real China. And yes, I’ve been there multiple times and have visited the real China.
Been there, spent weeks in towns through the lower Yangtze River. Traveled by train, seen plenty of countryside.

There appears to be a bit of a battle brewing within the bureaucracy of Ottawa to achieve “so-called” austerity. Seems that to meet the objective the management is tasked with justifying their current headcount and as such the lower level bureaucrats are in danger of being cut loose. To prevent this from happening the managers are mandating overtime for their staff to keep them on the payroll.
Of course something like this is unsustainable but surely it can be kept under control if it’s within the current years budget……oh wait….
There is something going on, hearing lots of ums and ahs and discussion of the meaning of the word austerity and what it applies to. Radio is good.

Yesterday I went to do a small job at a lakefront property. There was a tag on the window of the entrance door. It was from the Federal government ,questioning if the residence was a cottage or principle residence. This was in a regional park .So is this for tax implications or are the looking for housing options? 1. 2015 population 35.7 million.
2. 2024 population 41.55 million.
These figures are from a google search. I suspect temporary residents are not included and have seen figures that put the increase closer to 10 million. That is unverified.
So 2 points. How can you massively increase the population and achieve net zero? ( a solution to a non existing crisis)
Are they looking to house this massive population increase in your cottages and spare bedrooms?

The fossil fuel power plant down where the poor people live is cranking out tonnes more lung-choking exhaust to power my EV!? What do I care? My little darlings have a clean, green, environment! Yeayyy for me.
Mr. Knight, the CO2 tariff is part of the green plan, always has been. Problem is two-fold: 1) It’s a tax on your own people (well, at least the prols) 2) Foreigners can ignore us.
