I’m fairly certain the government doesn’t know they do this: The Isle of Man TT

That’s crazy!
This is a beautiful race. I’ve seen quite a few videos of this, some folks make compilations of crashes only, the bystanders who you can tell are new to it as they jump a bit backwards when the first bikes race by…
Maybe Alberta should have a similar race between Banff and Jasper after we separate, in our new Alberta National Parks.
Bucket list race. That and the Suzuka 8 Hours, the biggest motorcycle race in the world.
What we should have is more like the Alta 1000, from Indian Cabins to Pincher Creek or Milk River, using Forestry Trunk Road and a bunch of the trails.
Years ago they used to have a dirt bike race down on the Milk River east of town. A portion of it ran across one of our pastures.
Holy crap!
Shhhhhh just enjoy, no government people need know about this
Not a huge fan of motorcycle racing but this one is worth the watch every year
The Isle of Man is self-governing, decides all domestic matters and is deemed a separate political entity from the UK.
The UK is responsible only for its defence, and representation abroad (whatever that means).
Only got thru a few minutes of it, I just can’t watch it without covering my eyes. Those guys are nuts
It’s a big annual event in Britain, like the Boat Racec or Grand National.
Dr. John Hinds and Dr. Fred MaxSorley were the Flying doctors who rode the track on the same bikes that racers used, with medical gear to go to any accidents. Hinds died while providing medical coverage for the Skerries 100 race, after hitting a wall. Hinds and his widow campaigned for an Air Ambulance service in Northern Ireland which also covers the Isle of Mann
Interesting, but the Isle of Manfred Man has better music.
