The modern NDP executives appear to have no idea of who or why their party was created. It was a coalition of male blue collar workers in trade unions, laborers, miners, small business owners and rural farm families. Their motives were fair wages, better working conditions, a basic social safety net and function as a counterbalance to the power of government linked corporations and mining companies. There was always a background buzz of socialism but the members were largely regular Joes who were tired of being taken advantage of by big governments that did the bidding of big corporations.
Now the NDP are a coalition of fringe activists groups who literally hate the types of people who founded the political party and actively want to eliminate occupations like mining and farming. Then the NDP wonder why voters from the founding groups have largely abandoned them and now vote conservative. The NDP has become a fringe freak show. The sooner the NDP are bankrupt and disappear, the better.

The problem is this actually will increase the likelihood of a skilled politicians becoming leader. Only a true slimeball scumbag will make it over their pronoun obstacle course.
