Great Success!

Kevin Klein- Investors bet with their wallets, and Carney’s Canada loses big

It isn’t just foreigners who see the writing on the wall. Canadian investors themselves are pushing their money elsewhere. In June alone, Canadians bought $8.2 billion in foreign equities, $5.7 billion of it in U.S. stocks, on top of an even larger $14.3 billion shift the month before. They also shed $7.5 billion in U.S. government bonds and moved into corporate credit. The story here is obvious: Canadian investors are hedging against their own country. That’s not diversification, it’s self-preservation.

  1. You either bought the dip … or you are a dip-shit. For believing Trump’s tariffs … Smoot-Hawley! Smoot-Hawley!! Tariffs “caused the Great Depression of 1929”!! Trump will CRATER the US economy, all over again!! Oh My!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Dadddddyyyyyyyyyyyyy …

    1. Well, isn’t that a ‘wonderful’ sentiment. Thanks, mister.
However, for some with youth and means, perhaps Canada can be divestible.

  2. In 30 years, Canada went from a land of prosperity and hope to a hellhole that will fine you $25,000 for walking in the woods, with incredibly sad-looking and unfriendly people. It does boggle the mind.

    1. Try not to be so hyperbolic and defeatist. That’s what “they” want.
There are many solid people in this country. Remember the Freedom Convoy and the millions who supported them on the wintry roadsides and on parliament hill and via monetary efforts?
By the way, while I agree with you on many sad and unfriendly elements, I also see friendly and kind people.
And though I dislike the phrase, I hope for a “tipping point” of revolutionary proportions.
You can’t choose the times you live in, said Tolkien, but you can choose how to deal with it (paraphrase, and less elegant than JRR wrote it).
      Keep the faith.

        1. Well, that’s the thing about faith and time I guess, Buddy.
For long years, no one could have guessed that Magna Carta could happen, and beyond.
In the meantime, and as you say below, invest in bulk ammo, just like Waco and shite.
          Timelines are us.

    2. You just described the people of the SF Bay Area. It’s sad, but CA and Ca. are so similar. Marxist shitholes getting shitholier.

  3. well uh uh uh uh pppfffff pfffffff well we will just HAVE TO
vote liberal again so they can fix this pffff pfffffff pffffffff uh uh uh uh uh
(l found out a way to read the mind of a liberal voter)

  4. Facts are as follows,
The massive de-investment of Canada is the greatest news possible. Canadians for generations have been undeserved overspending lazy socialist underachievers, and they need to be massively de-funded. This will have a desperately needed deflationary effect. Hopefully the Crown of Canada will fall and a new vibrant and prosperous Republic of Canada will take its place. Aboriginals will be shown the door and stripped of their putrid land claims. French as an official language will be abolished. Canada will become a Right to Work nation thereby de-fanging the obnoxious trade unions. Canadians will KEEP and BEAR arms as an inalienable Right. There will be much deserved pain. But soon the cancerous tumor of Canadian feudal socialism will die and your children will reap the benefit. Good luck.

    1. LosDeplorables, with respect, not an f’ing chance of that happening. There is hope for some of us (WEXIT!!!) but the balance of this shithole will have to stew in their own juices in hell for a few generations before any common dog fukc is realized. By then it will be too late for the bastards.

      1. DB, with respect, Wexit is a futile dream. Look at the mayors of Calgary and Edmonton. Those who voted for them will not vote wexit.
Abandon all wexit hope, and I say so with sorrow as someone who lived in Alberta for most of my life.

  5. The “Team Canada elbows up crisis managing genius prime minister” took his marbles to somewhere near Trump tower IIRC.

Me thinks he is a liar and intends to be a thief. I also think he’s put a lot of tax payer money (well, he is a banker and must know easy money when he sees it; think Canadian tax money. Without any Parliament what so ever, he has handed out billions.) His targets are set and his marks are willing.

    1. And the CPP investment broad foreheads.
Meanwhile Cenovus buys MEG Energy, consolidating oilsands operations.

  6. You may say; “what’s left to invest in, in Canada? Crappy, cruel, banks, crappy, cruel telcos, messed up airlines, crappy filthy Brazilian owned, proudly Canadian coffee shops, something-something, green, something-something gay, and Forzanis?”.

Of course I could short all of the above…hmmmm.

Me, all I see are fat food outlets, dope outlets, and liquor stores. Every strip mall. Every third, a gas station, circle 11, curry place, and an auto body shop. (It’s Calgary it’s on our city charter. Blue ring -Curry & discount accident repair city).

Buy ‘merican—maybe. But for AI—Nvidia et al, the stock market would show a full on recession.

Nopers, my money is 100% on buying that Korean company building tanks in Poland and the Chinese ship building company building our Ferry’s.

    Sunny days.
