      Tomorrow’s meeting will be a complete waste of time in my opinion. All those European leaders coming with him won’t make any difference unless they are there to read him the Riot Act, which is highly unlikely.

  2. As a sign of good faith Zelensky needs to tell the truth about his 2019 phone call with Trump and also tell the whole story on the Joe and Hunter Biden involvement in Ukraine. Or Trump should demand immediate elections in Ukraine as spelled out by the Ukraine constitution. How can Trump negotiate with a constitutionally illegitimate, backstabbing poseur who publicly plays piano with his penis?

  5. I’m sure Putin is eager to hammer out an agreement after losing 20,000 Russian soldiers in July alone…and by “losing” I mean killed. Maybe Ukraine has a death ray we don’t know about.
    Whatever – Trump is right about one thing, this is a “ridiculous war” and totally “unnecessary”.
    Proud to say I didn’t totally buy into this conflict since the “Ghost of Kiev” line of sh** and hundreds of Ukraine military aged kids getting effed up at Ukrainian resorts. Where do these draft dodgers think they are… at a Woodstock music festival?

        I have just been informed that almost 20,000 Russian soldiers died this month in the ridiculous War with Ukraine. Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year. That is a lot of unnecessary DEATH! Ukraine, however, has also suffered greatly. They have lost approximately 8,000 soldiers since January 1, 2025, and that number does not include their missing. Ukraine has also lost civilians, but in smaller numbers, as Russian rockets crash into Kyiv, and other Ukrainian locales. This is a War that should have never happened — This is Biden’s War, not “TRUMP’s.” I’m just here to see if I can stop it!

    1. Carney, like his counterparts in the Coalition of the Willing for Ukraine is willing to spend American money and/or provide American boots on the ground for Ukraine. The leaders of this Coalition are descending en masse in WDC expecting to bully President Trump to do their will. I’m betting on Trump.

      As things stand, the US is not a member of the “Coalition of the Willing.” In fact, the main reason why the coalition exists in the first place is because Trump broke the three-year united front among allies and went his own way to launch negotiations with Putin.
      However, the group still hopes the US might become involved at one point in the process and provide some assistance to the reassurance force, such as air protection or intelligence sharing. This will likely motivate more nations to commit more troops.
      This is the so-called “US backstop” that Starmer has referred to several times.
      “As I’ve always said, this will require the engagement and support of the United States,” Starmer said. “That’s a discussion we’ve had with the US president on many occasions.”

    1. The meeting this morning and tone of Zelensky is pretty much the complete OPPOSITE of every “news” report I’ve read all weekend. I believe Zelensky is relenting.

  13. Today should be interesting, if not entertaining. I doubt we’ll be gifted with such operatic displays as the first Zelensky WH meeting, but one can always hope.

    I notice the EU and Ukraine didn’t ask for Canada’s input. How much money have you pledged to the Super Duper Fans Coalition this year? They could at least invite some of you down for the luncheon, very rude, almost like you aren’t a sovereign state that has given quite a bit to this Ukrainian endeavor.

    First sign that the winds might have changed? The Russians finally took out a bridge on the Dneiper (that was the beginning of this month — after three and half years…which should tell you something about this war).
