  1. Great Success under Great Leader: Russia’s struggle to build commercial jets reflects deeper industrial malaise
    https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/russias-struggle-build-commercial-jets-reflects-deeper-industrial-malaise-2025-08-08/

“”There is no component base, no technology, no production facilities, no engineers,” said one Russian aviation industry source, who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter.”

“The aviation sector’s struggles to become self-sufficient are part of a broader industrial slowdown. Russia’s factory output contracted at its fastest pace since March 2022 in July, according to Purchasing Managers’ Index data, and industrial growth continues to decelerate.”

“The government has repeatedly revised its production goals. In mid-2024, it cut the 2024–2025 delivery target to 21 from 171 aircraft. Last month, officials said targets would be revised again, citing high interest rates, which have made financing more expensive and slowed production.”

“The MC-21 aircraft, built entirely with Russian-made parts, was much heavier than the version built with imported parts, reducing range and fuel efficiency – so airlines have been reluctant to adopt it, according to the Russian aviation source.”

    1. And yet schweinie-loving blockheads here not only will deny that the Russian kleptocracy is imploding, but also will vehemently counter the statement that Russia is extremely backward technologically…

      1. Are you still here boring us to death? I thought I told you to f*ck off…

          1. > And you have no original thoughts at all.
Says someone who’s evidently getting most of the information from The Gateway Fvckwit and suchlike places. LOL.

    2. I know I’m late to this pissing match, but to just pile-on – “Russia is literally descending into anarchy…”

Be forewarned gentlemen, whenever this guy does a video in Russia, the government sends out hundreds of long-legged Russian girls to walk back and forth during his filming.

  2. Armenia, Azerbaijan sign historic US-brokered peace deal
    https://www.dw.com/en/armenia-azerbaijan-sign-historic-us-brokered-peace-deal/a-73567746

“It’s a long time, 35 years, they fought, and now they’re friends, and they’re going to be friends for a long time,” Trump said.

What’s interesting, is that throughout those years there were Russian “peacekeeping” forces stationed in Armenia whose actual task was to keep the conflict smoldering and thus keep Armenia on a short leash. In all likelihood, Armenia should thank Azerbaijan for wresting the contested land from them, thus exposing that the Russian protection was worth nothing and allowing Armenia to boot the Russians out (another Great Success for Russia under their Great Leader, LOL).

  3. Stevie …

My grandsons have been visiting their ‘other grandparents’ in the Okanagan for the last week and I noticed visited a lovely waterfall … Okanagan falls? I’ll check with my daughter. They visited some farmland with an apparent ‘free-range’ petting zoo. Nice corn growing there in the Okanagan … who knew?

Here’s a lovely little summer song by one of my new discoveries … Hard Meat … “you can’t have any pudding, if you don’t eat your hard meat” … who wants limp meat? Firm is always better.

    1. Hey, Kenji, your grandkids may have been in my semi-rural neighbourhood, which backs onto the Mill Creek park (and has a waterfall), My hood is also very near the Kangaroo Creek outdoor petting zoo. So, if that is where they were, then they literally walked behind my back yard.
As for corn, I know of a couple of small places that grow it, but it isn’t a major corn growing area. Lots of veggie farms in the valley but still dominated by orchards and vineyards.
      MMMM…meat!

      1. Alright my friend … I got their itinerary. They were in Salmon Arm. Margaret Falls, Log Barn in Armstrong and D’Mills Farm in Salmon Arm. Closer to my son in Law’s Shuswap peoples land. No, I cannot discuss the unmarked graves hoax with him … at all. He’s as “settler” as you and I … and quite the conservative … working for a living to keep his family in nice things. But. He respects his FN heritage … as he should. Unfortunately… he’s been passed down family “stories” about the “brutality” of the Residential schools … so his mind is made up. Oh well. Some things, with some people aren’t worth arguing. Like if you told me you liked ‘Death Metal’ … I’d just nod and say that’s interesting… perhaps I should look into that more (gawwwd).

        1. Thanks for the update, my friend.
I know Salmon Arm area, where I planted trees long ago.
I also know first nations convoluted shite.
I grew up in North Ontario and went to school with Anishanabe peeps, some of whom are still friends.
I also know BC bros. Planted with them, and still share a few laughs when I buy smokes.
I also had a fine time chatting with a dude named Joe Beaver a few years ago when I drove from BC to Ontario. We met up in Thunder Bay, where he and his wife were visiting from Sault Look Out, and me and my wife were going to visit family.
Me and Joe had a great chat, and he told me he would take me pickerel fishing up north anytime.
Here’s the thing…If I showed up in Soo Lookout, Joe would take me fishing.
          Hey Yay yay yo…

          1. Nothing better than a seasoned fishing guide … at least for us old occasional fishermen. My grandkids thank you for your reforestation.

    1. Hopefully, the children’s words of love to them will be “go fvck yourselves”.

    1. My jaw is hanging open after reading that …

No, not because all the promises made by Communist CA politicians have turned to dust … but by the comment … “The average time to obtain a building permit in Dallas is 8-days” !!! That is 6-8 weeks from my local building inspection dept. … which really means 8-12 weeks.

It just took 37 days to get a call back from the Oakland Building Dept. asking a simple, yet “interpretive” question about their zoning code. 37 days. Of course, no one answered their phone line as it went straight to voice mail that promised a 24 hour call back. When that didn’t happen, I resisted calling back and leaving ANOTHER message and decided to run an experiment. Well … 37 days later I received a call back suggesting I could find the answer to my question by reading their online planning code.

No. No I couldn’t … because after reading through their entire code … my project fell into an “interpretive” gap. But something tells me they would take another 37 days to obtain an “official interpretation” of my question.

  4. Once again, PP misses the mark. It’s not about allowing choice, it’s that the entire facade of Globull Warmening is based upon an argument set upon sand. In some ways, I almost wish he’d lose the by-election in the hopes that someone w/ an actual small-c conservative spine would step up to the plate.

  5. Of course letting AI bots on X and other platforms will only encourage others to use opposing bots until these “social” media platform become useless, with most of the commentary not being from real people.

It may sound good at first because I agree with his positions, but allowing it at all will lead to the downfall of these services.

It reminds me of when Toronto Mayor David Miller kept on repeatedly publicly trashing then Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty on all of his issues because he wanted the City of Toronto Act, that gave the city and the mayor much more power in many areas particularly taxation. Miller got the extra powers and stopped all criticisms of the Premier. Then Rob Ford became mayor and Miller wanted the extra powers repealed!
