Globe and Mail- Montreal’s rat problem worsens despite city’s promise to tackle it
Data obtained by The Canadian Press show there were more than 1,700 calls to Montreal’s 311 phone line in 2024 concerning rats, up from just over 1,000 calls two years earlier. In some of the city’s 19 boroughs, the number of calls more than doubled in that time.
Of course, midway down the article the cause of the rat problem is proclaimed in a link to another article. CLIMATE CHANGE!!!!
The BS just keeps flying around with no end in sight.
First, the article did not cite climate change as the cause, it referenced climate change. Second, if climate change is cited as a cause I’d bet the change was political, not environmental 😉

They travel along walls and fence lines.
That’s where you can trap them.
I prefer to shoot them, then I don’t have to drown them.
In concert with the neighbors, we’ve also used dry ice down their holes and backfilled with 3/4″ clear, but new ones came back.
The rate in Vancouver are out of control. I see them in broad daylight scurrying across the street. Saw one in a Freshco in Richmond running underneath a shelving unit.
