  1. Canadians also criticize the Canadian dairy cartel. Not only does it cut out local competition, it massively drives up prices, and won’t sell normal milk. Instead first boiling out most of the nutrition based on junk science.

  2. This seems to be the Canadian Dairy Cartel’s response to getting spanked on a previous arbitration decision relative to the USMCA (NAFTA replacement). In that decision, Canada was overproducing to circumvent Tariff Rate Quotas of certain diary products exported from the US. By over producing, there was no demand for the US products, and Canada refused to import at the agreed to lowered tariff rate.

NOW, however, it would appear that the Canadian Dairy Cartel is dumping to produce a higher demand and push the price while simultaneously allowing US imports that increase in tariff costs once the quota has been reached. In short, a double whammy to increase the cost of dairy products, and increase the cost of US export costs.

Who’s running the Canadian Dairy Cartel, anyway. Did someone reincarnate Robber Baron Jay Gould?

  3. So then … doesn’t sound like the tariff negotiations are going too well … ?

    1. Actually, between Canada and the US, they aren’t going on at all. The revisit to the USMCA is scheduled for 2026. There are consultations going on relative to that. But, nothing of importance.

I think it’s about 99.99999% likely that there will be straight trade deals instead of the USMCA Trinity. Trump and Bessent have pointed out numerous times that the only real positive thing about the USMCA is that it got rid of NAFTA. And, all the while the US will secure trade agreements with those parties that could provide economic leverage to Canada (EU, China etc.). So, by the time that they do sit down, there won’t be a whole lot of negotiation left to do.

Just look at the EU trade agreement that came out the other day. The EU conceded everything. The US, nothing. If the EU was Carney’s saving grace market to apply leverage to the US, that’s essentially gone.

    2. Shrug. Carney plan? To have Trump say “Forget it. Can’t make a deal with you guys. 100 percent tariffs on all Canadian goods!”

Bobblehead will let the country sink to third world status because he knows full well that he’ll gain more traction with gormless “elbows up” voters. If he brokered a deal that had the appearance of making concessions, he’d be crucified.

    1. And Justin Trudeau is spotted having drinks with Katy Perry. His work here is done.

  4. Hey Canada! Ya wanna dump powdered milk products on the world market!? Here’s an idea! Why don’t you dump them in Palestine instead? You know … those noble people you cheer … are starving. Why don’t you have the Canadian Navy build a dock, and you can dump all your government subsidized milk solids on the starvin’ Muslim chil’ren?

Or would you rather wait till Hollywood (and Katie Perry) hosts another Live Aid Benefit Concert?

  5. We are witnessing the end of;
… Laurentian Elite (cooked their golden goose)
    … Canadian socialism (ditto)
… Liberal Party of Canada (so shallow/suicidal they finally don’t care about their own demise)
… Marshal Plan (successful, but so long in tooth that lazy nations chose not to grow up)
… juvenile politicians (education is also imminent)

The future of the West looks bright.

  6. Dumping non-fat milk solids? Geez, I think I did that the last time I cleaned out the fridge. I hope I haven’t gotten us all in trouble.
