Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew chose not to sign a new interprovincial trade agreement unveiled Tuesday by Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, citing the need for Indigenous consensus before moving forward with major infrastructure projects.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed during the Council of the Federation meeting in Huntsville, Ontario, commits the three provinces to collaborate on the construction of new pipelines, rail lines, and trade infrastructure. The goal is to expand market access for Canadian oil, gas, and critical minerals while reducing reliance on foreign trade partners.
Kinew’s absence from the agreement raises questions, especially given Manitoba’s geographic location as a natural link in any east–west corridor. However, in a public statement, the premier said Manitoba’s decision not to participate was intentional.
The time for end paying into equalization is now. Stop the talk and start the walk.

“Indigenous “ consensus = grifting and bribery, Canada’s extraordinary case of Stockholm syndrome dooms the nation to a future grounded in the 15th century.
Look for future mass transit to feature hand-dug canals and dugout canoes.
Looking for that silver lining.
15th century infrastructure will prove familiar and welcoming to the preferred clsss of 3rd world immigrants now flooding into Canada.
Of course it was intentional, just as it was intentional when Fat F@#K Ford said he could trust Trump as far as he could throw him. They are not looking out for my interest. Are they looking out for yours?
Observing an entire nation commit suicide is the pinnacle of Reality TV. I need to start taking better notes.
So-called “First Nations” have NEVER had veto authority over projects. Never. It’s time to put that myth to bed.
The corporate media have a continuous honeymoon period with premier Kinew.
L- Kinew, we hardly knew you. But you will need a visa and a passport to cross your western border, soon.
So when the intersecting province, Manitoba, declines to sign, what good is the agreement? In a word, a nothing burger. You can’t cross a provincial boundary with a pipeline if the intervening space is governed by a leftist, non-compliant government. It’s toast so stop bragging.
Beginning mainly under the Justin Trudeau “government”, the feds essentially abandoned its authority in regard to projects that cross provincial borders. It also abandoned its authority over so-called “First Nations”…..and it did so because it was an easy cop out so Herr Trudeau could implement his idiotic “climate change” nonsense. Same goes for TMX (and Northern Gateway, by the way). The feds could have used their authority to push those through but pretended they didn’t have the authority to do so. They did….but they wanted a handful of seats in Vancouver and area and didn’t care if it cost Canada tens of billions of dollars.
And that is why Manitoba won’t be coming with us.
This. In spades. If anybody needed any further evidence…
Tippy Kinew is a typical uppity Indian POS.
E’ffn illerates!
Can’t even spell CANOE!!
Kinew is a nasty, condescending piece of crap.
Manitoba takes its place as the new Quebec: throwing up roadblocks to nation building under the guise of protecting shopworn cultural identities.
Glad we built the railway when we could.
Leave already. Make rump Canada an insignificant nation.
Quebec gets the ink for the amount of equalization fed to them, it’s a large number.
$13.8 Billion / 9.1 Million citizens = $1500 per (rounded up)
Manitoba:
$4.7 Billion / 1.5 Million citizens = $3130 per
Did you also include the tax points that quebec gets?
Just the widely publicized $ number.
Why would anyone expect any different when Manitoba elected the grifter?
Immigration will come to a halt when the natives demand a head tax on new imports.
How about dipping the pipeline south, into the USA then back up into Canada, again, effectively bypassing Manitoba? Some spurs off of the main line, for the USA..
When you look at some pipeline maps and wonder why, THIS is why!
Do not give Manitoba anything, screw ’em, and years later, when they are still suffering, remind them why! Enough of this crap.
I imagine this was prearranged, so that Ford could safely and temporarily act like a conservative.
