  1. It doesn’t matter what Albertans (or anyone outside of the Laurentian Elite) think. As long as it doesn’t affect them, it’s open season on stupidity.

This was recognized as early as 1915 with the publication of the political cartoon, The Milch Cow in The Grain Growers Guide. Look for it online. Tens years after AB/SK joined confederation we knew it was a problem. One hundred-fifteen years later the only thing that’s changed is that it’s now worse and the pricks have gotten bolder.

There is only one solution to this mess: WEXIT!

    1. If my application for a greencard is rejected we will more to Alberta. It’s as close as we can get to the USA in Canada.

      1. > The question being posed is “Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?”

That is really a stupid question.

        It is meaningless.

Of course Alberta *should* stay in Canada BUT, under current conditions is it reasonable or even possible for Alberta to to remain in Canada?

        That’s the real question.

        1. The answer is, “To be or not to be. That is the question”. The question is, what is the question?

  2. I too mourn the country that is now gone. I served Canada in the army for 31 years. Nowadays, I would not join up because Canada is no longer worth serving.

  3. My pride in being Canadian started a long slow spiral down to zero beginning with the unification of our armed forces back in the 60s. My only chance of getting any of it restored is if Prime Minister Trump continues to force this infantile Nation to act in a responsible, adult fashion.

  4. I am in aggreement of the forementioned sentiments…my question is why?
A country with all the opportunities, structure and resources offered them and yet we seemingly stop every opportunity to be successful. Blessed with the wisdom of our forefathers and the natural resourses given us Canada should be the shining example of aulturism using these tools for the betterment of all….sadly we are not. We have no collective ambition, we are now going tribal, which is the opposite of what our founders invisioned.

    1. The blame starts with the coddled generation known as “boomers.” Navel gazing children never forced to grow up, elected the communist pig Trudeau Sr. who used socialism and multiculturism to soften up the country and reduce pride. The wretched spawn of the pig, elected by the still infantile garbage generation of boomers finished the financial wrecking job using climate change, something only scary to children.

At the end of the day, the fault lives with Canadians, governments cannot do what a bold citizenry will not tolerate. That is whyy there will be no WEXIT, AB and SK are just Canadians, too cowed and weak to do anything but drop to their knees and cry to mommy government. Shithole.

      1. Keep in mind it was members of the Greatest generation that encouraged the Boomers to be that way. Also, not all boomers hold the attitude you’re accusing us of.

        1. “Keep in mind it was members of the Greatest generation that encouraged the Boomers to be that way. Also, not all boomers hold the attitude you’re accusing us of.”

And that most of the regulars here are Boomers.

          1. Fred, it is a generalization, not an absolute, and I am almost a boomer, about two years too young to be one, and end of cohorts always get the short end, not malice, just demographics. I realize many of the regulars (I’m a long time one) are boomers, tell me truthufully that most of your generation doesn’t disgust you?

          2. “And that most of the regulars here are Boomers.”

And yes, most of my generation does disgust me. It seems that every generation after The Greatest Generation has a higher and higher percentage of cowards, liars and Useful Idiots. It’s only going to get worse, too.

          3. …tell me truthufully that most of your generation doesn’t disgust you?

No. [spit] Progs disgust me. Millions of Boomers did not vote for the left. All [spit] Progs did. Some Boomers, some not.

If a picture helps, draw out a Venn diagram. More [spit] Progs than boomers voted for the left. [spit] Progs of all ages are the issue! I can’t make it any clearer. If you don’t understand, then you are either obtuse or willfully ignorant.

F’ing tired of being castigated in brash generalizations…

    2. I have to agree with Peter. This is exactly how communism is implemented. Target the people that work hard and therefore have wealth. Tell the lazy that these people should share their wealth. You know “pay their fair share”. But most importantly, go after the kids. Spoil them, tell them everything is okay, government will give you money, drugs and you can watch Netflix all day. Government propaganda is not there to convince you, it’s there to demoralize you. If you believe a person can change sex you’ll believe anything. Therefore you’ll believe anything government tells you and go along with it. And that’s the goal.
Lastly I will say this about Canadians in general. The only identity we seem to have is that we’re not American. We’re just so much better than those stupid hicks that elected Orange Man. My parents immigrated to Canada in 1980 when I was 10. We faced some challenges but we made it. Now it’s slipping away and I’m moving south.

    3. Trudeau the elder, along with the Cretin, implemented policies designed to take Canada from a high trust society to a low trust society for political power, Trudeau the lesser continued to make it worse by importing millions of culturally incompatible people, while officially celebrating their cultures as “equal” to Canadian Culture.

The sacrifices of Vimy and Juno would be impossible today.

  5. I am among the fortunate who have an American spouse. My application to get a greencard went in yesterday. My lawyer informs me they are currently swamped with applications from folks like me and it will be a year and a half to get an answer but at least I have hope of escape.

I often see posts on X telling people if they don’t like Canada they should leave. Now. It’s not that easy. You can’t just get up and walk out of Canada to a new country. I would be gone now if it were possible to go.

    1. My son will be returning to the United States at the end of the month with a very lovely young lady and a job awaiting. Along with a world of opportunity.
It has truly broken my heart that I have had to tell him that his greatest, perhaps only, chance for success lays in the United States.
It has truly broken his heart that I told him I may be coming to live with him so get the couch ready!

    2. This ^^^^. My wife’s cousin married an American and in 2018 the whole family moved to Tennessee. It was a process for him to get his status though. For the rest of us getting US status is not easy. The hope is for Alberta separation but that is not moving fast enough. Not enough here in Alberta will willing to admit that that northern shitholistan is a gulag today.

  6. The great prosperous Canada with Hope and pride in its future is gone. Nothing really works as it used to and Ontario and Quebec screwed the rest of the country over by electing idiots. One definition of stupid is electing the same politicians and expecting a different result.
It is gone and it will take too much effort to bring it back.

But we did it to ourselves because we as a country voted these fools in time and again. You want to know who to blame then go look in the mirror.

  7. Canada got a disease – Marxism.
The only cure is the vaccine combo of CAGE, rope and hot lead.

    1. It’s more than that: there’s Quebec choking, the BS of eco-everything, Chinese peddling. All on top of the EU-Socialism tumor.

  8. A definition of a Loser
A “loser” can be defined as someone who frequently experiences loss or failure, especially in competitive situations or in life in general. It can also be used to describe someone who is perceived as incompetent or unsuccessful. The term carries a negative connotation, often implying a lack of ability, poor character, or a consistently unsuccessful life trajectory.
Can a country be called a ‘Loser’?

  9. Canaduh can be likened to a twenty something with purple hair, living in xer parent’s basement. Has a double degree in sociology and lesbian Vietnamese poetry. Smokes weed all day, eats Mom and Dad’s food. Dad asks for help around the house and all he gets is a lecture about his greed and racism.

Until, one day, Dad comes home from a bad day and tells xer to “get a job or get the f@ck out” This is where canaduh is at right now.

What a shameful, pitiful, disgraceful waste of a land that had such an incredible past, built by good people of good will with an incredible potential. Destroyed. Absolutely destroyed on the altar of trudeaupian socialism.

Dad came home a few months ago and he ain’t happy at all.

The West must leave while the captain, having deliberately steered towards the iceberg, is frantically bailing water INTO the ship.

  10. I came here from England in 1978, and as bad as things are here, returning is not a viable option.
I am retired now, so my options are limited, but I think my best alternative is Ireland. I have a daughter living there and a British passport allows me to live there. They too have their problems, but the recent protests suggest they have enough fire in their bellies to turn things around.
    Otherwise Alberta looks good.

  11. Nothing is really new. I grew up in NW Ontario. I recall in the 50’s complaints about the easts heavy hand.
I served Canada in the Navy for 13y 10m 2days. I did not survive Pierre the turds reign of terror.
I now consider my self a British Columbian.

    GO WEXIT

a question for Kate. Does the Gov ever try to get the names of contributors?

  12. All these problems that have transformed Canada are entirely unnecessary, self inflicted, and perhaps intentionally foisted upon us. Attempts to be accepting and tolerant of all behaviours and ideologies have resulted in us being mowed down. God forbid someone’s feelings might be hurt or that someone be held responsible for their actions. it appears that there is no way to turn this around and no safe haven to run to. We’re retired to a small town now and relatively sheltered, but what of our grandchildren? Oh, Canada, we despair for thee.

  13. When Lester Pearson allowed the federal civil service to unionise the end was in the works. The government bureaucracy became a magnet for the slothful and the degenerate with only a small handful of actual dedicated personnel. All this mess started then and is the result of unelected, unaccountable and hard to fire lowlifes running the show.

  14. Read “The Scorched-Wood People,” by Rudy Wiebe. It’s a novelized account of Louis Riel and his deputy, Gabriel Dumont, in their fight for rights for the Metis people in what is now Manitoba. It took place in the late 1860s, right after Confederation. One thing that stands starkly out is the arrogance of the politicians in Ottawa at that time; it appears that the Laurentian elites already had control, and it has not let up one bit since then and probably never will.

    1. Dan, the good news is that on our trajectory, they can have it. They will be controlling nothing, as nothing will be left. Shithole.

  15. IMO Canada’s zenith as a nation occurred in the middle/late 60’s. Then under the administration of avowed internationalist/socialist L.B. Pearson followed by Pierre Elliot Trudeau the planned and managed decline of our nation was surreptitiously launched in preparation for the New World Order. Watch and weep for the demise our nation: https://youtu.be/uGaSgSh72rg

  16. Since my son in law is a FN Canadian … he is FREE to reside-in and work-in America as well as Canada. He didn’t “need” to marry my daughter for citizenship.

    https://ca.usembassy.gov/first-nations-and-native-americans/

So … to all you hardworking, rational FN people in Canada … you are FREE to leave the shitshow Canada has become. If you aren’t in a Chief’s clan receiving $$$millions in compensation to start digging in the Residential School “Mass graves” … if you didn’t get a taxpayer funded new pickup truck, snow machine, or big screen TV … please note: you are FREE to move to Trump’s America. If you have something to offer our country ? Then you’re welcome. Come on down!

  17. IMHO, old guy here, Canada was already toast when she got here 20 years ago. She got to enjoy the fun ride as the slippery slope went vertical during #ShinyPony, but this place began going south pretty hard in the 1970s.

There is an argument to be made that Diefenbaker killed Canada in 1956 when he killed the Arrow and made Avro cut up all the prototypes. Every other company in Canada took a look at that and said “Oh, so that’s how it is eh?” and started looking south to the USA.

Canada used to have aircraft carriers and a NUCLEAR program. Where’s all that now? DEAD, that’s where, right along with all the industry that used to fill every town in Southern Ontario. Killed by our own government.
