Yesterday, in this post, I pointed out that a clear majority of American men will not vote for the Democrats, while the vast majority of Canadian men would absolutely vote for the Democrats, if they were allowed to vote in the U.S. I asked for an explanation why Canadian men think this way.
To my great delight, ‘The Phantom’ share a most eloquent and detailed answer which is well worth a read:
Short answer, propaganda works.
Longer answer, if you’ve never lived outside Canada for more than a year, you cannot appreciate the depth and breadth of propaganda programing we’ve all been subjected to since birth. I lived in the USA for ten years, and after the first year I began to truly understand the sheer weight of false assumptions I was laboring under.
This is not to say that the USA is the home of Truth and Light. Their media and institutions lie! High, wide and handsome.
But the lies don’t match!
Being from Canada, I would point and laugh at obviously false assertions made by officials, media weenies, teachers, and my American friends would be surprised. “How do you know?” they would always say, and I would tell them how it is in Canada, and the BS they say there. Between us we would winkle out the lies.
But that’s just media and public statements. The longer I lived there the more things I found that are Holy Writ in Canada that various states in the USA don’t do at all. One example that shocked me, when I bought a crappy old car in Arizona and went to get it licensed, there was no mandatory inspection. The license desk was a drive-through window. I actually asked the lady about it, she laughed and said they could inspect it if I wanted but it wasn’t required. It seems Canadians were uniformly shocked and surprised about it, and she thought it was hilarious.
Starting a business and getting it registered in Ontario costs $5K in legal fees and government fees, and there’s a complex accounting for taxes. You can’t really do it without a lawyer AND an accountant, it isn’t practical. Starting a business and getting it registered in Arizona? You go on a website. No lawyer, no accountant. Registration fee less than $100, I think I paid $25 for my PT clinic.
Gun license? Canada, impossible. Arizona, you don’t need no stinking license, open carry. Concealed carry, there’s a course you take, you pay some money, and they HAVE TO give you a concealed carry permit. Have to. They are not allowed to say no.
And shockingly, the roads are not filled with wrecked cars, the businesses function properly, and so forth. Phoenix is a far better and far SAFER city than Toronto. I want to retire there someday when I’m old.
People don’t know what they don’t know. They assume the government is telling the truth about needing to inspect your used car, needing all those complex forms to start a business, banning firearms, and a myriad of other ridiculous regulations. They don’t know it’s all a lie, they’ve never gone anywhere else.
Worse, they are all desperate to be right about everything, and so they defend the lies vigorously if you point and laugh. Their own vanity makes it impossible to admit the Canadian government is run by thieves and liars.
Tell a Canadian that #Trump’s “Very fine people” quote is a lie, and get ready for a 20 minute dissertation on how stupid you are. It -is- a lie, of course, and it has been debunked time after time, but you are still going to be stupid to that guy. He KNOWS how it is.
And that is how #CarkMarney and his clown circus won an election. The Normies held their faith all the way through a PLAGUE my friends. Currently we are having a famine, and they are still holding their faith. You can’t leave your car at the GO station park-n-ride because some “foreign student” will sell it to Saudi Arabia while you’re at work, and still they hold.
I think the Normies will hold until each of them suffers a catastrophic loss. Mugging, house fire, loss of family member, 401K wiped out, house prices crater. All at once, the same year. Then, -maybe- in their misery, the light will go on. Maybe. But as we know from history it took a crushing and total defeat to wake the Germans, and the Japanese had to be nuked. Twice.
And that is why your family members and neighbors are so f-ing stupid. Enjoy the decline.
I wonder how many Canadians think that the USA has people dropping dead in the streets because we don’t have national socialist health care? I met an Englishman who thought that was true.

I know, because my son received it when he aged out of our family medical plan, he received 100% medical care from the County because he made so little money working as a Restaurant server. I’ve wondered for a long time why educated Canadian men are so much more susceptible to conditioning and propaganda than their American counterparts. The universities in both countries are equally ideologically corrupt.
Canadians are almost pathetically susceptible to any appeal to intellectual pride. You may recall how a couple of years ago, the word “thoughtful” was used as a dog whistle: “Thoughtful people resist the appeal of MAGA populism” or “Thoughtful people recognize the misinformation around vaccines”. Simply implying “This is what smart people think” was enough to get the majority of university-educated Canadians nodding their heads in sage agreement.
I do think that it’s possible that while universities in both Canada and the United States are post-modern progressive strongholds, there was a more complete and overt attempt to use universities in Canada to recruit and groom young Canadians to be receptive to globalist agendas, starting in the mid 1980’s. This resulted in an almost complete alignment of academia – ideologically and politically.
I’m not saying it was the WEF that was responsible, but let’s just say that a group of people and organizations that were aware of and cooperating with the WEF were very active in finding and training people. I had my own experience with someone trying to recruit me in my late teens.
The kind of manipulation that was used on me was very similar to that used by certain organizations to recruit spies, and it leaves behind broken people who have little ethical resistance and the ability to stomach a lot of cognitive dissonance. These people in turn made contact with and influenced others in a sort of ideological ponzi scheme that’s very difficult to break out of.
In the movie “Conspiracy”, Mel Gibson raves about “Gravy for your brain”. In Canada, we’ve had fifty years of Amway for your soul.
Liberals/Globalist use NGO’s like the ” WE Charity ” to propagandize young people.
I’m going to take a different twist on your response. Thoughtful people do think, that’s why they are attacked with such vigour. Thoughtful people do resist MAGA populism, they voted for Trump’s economic and social policies. Thoughtful people recognize the misinformation around vaccines, that’s why they were locked out of social discourse. Thoughtful people are attacked rage junkies who are egged on by people who don’t want the truth to be told.

What Phantom says about the differences between Canada and the US are mirrored by the differences between most Euro countries and the US.
In so many ways, the US really is a bastion of freedom (certain jurisdictions notwithstanding).
Also, aside from my travels throughout much of Canada, the US is the country I’ve visited the most and never had even a whiff of a probem with the people there, even in big cities. Most were friendly and helpful.

Are the States and Commonwealths that have joined together to make up the “lower 48” much different than the 27 States the make up the E.U. ? Politically, there may even be greater differences between those that make up the lower 48, think of California – N Dakokta or N.Y. – Kansas or Vermont – Montana.
The left tout how wonderful the E.U. is, the ease of travel, one past port, a governing body overall the States.
Why wouldn’t it be equally great for SK and AB to be part of the lower 48, for all those reasons and more.
I think it comes down to responsibility. Freedom requires responsibility, when men have responsibility and purpose, most act like, well, men. Canadian men are discouraged and even regulated away from having to take responsibility, so they act like children.

You can tell pretty quick who watches and believes Canadian Media and MSM in the US.
They use terms like “far right” for everyone who isn’t a commie, and they all hate Trump.
