    McFee … multi instrumental guitarist … playing a beautiful pedal steel guitar here (on the lp, Skunk Baxter played the pedal steel). Baxter played many a gig with the Doobies. Seems they could never have enough guitars… or drummers … hahahaha ha

  5. Curious how long everyone here is going to stay silent on the Trump-Musk split? Will it be just as long as on CPC tanking in the polls after the “51 state” rhetorics? Escapism is clearly the defining feature of this blog.

    1. Two men of great human accomplishment who are both supremely confident in their personal philosophies and capabilities … men who can both be said to have outsized egos … worked closely together and then clashed. Trump is POTUS. Musk is a hired hand. Musk has been excused from his duties. Trump is a Boss, and acts like a Boss. His White House isn’t run like Biden’s cabal of Obama leftovers. It’s not a White House by committee. No Autopen necessita.

      What I find ironic is that Steve Bannon … who is a raging Musk critic … found himself BOOTED out of the 2017 White House because his giant ego clashed with Trump’s. So … Musk is the ego clash of the 2025 White House. Trump is in charge. He’s the POTUS – again. There won’t be a co-Presidency.

      I believe that every POTUS over the past 40 years have known they were FRAUDS … simpleton figureheads who needed people like Dick Cheney or Valerie Jarrett to make decisions for them. Trump is different … he’s actually competent and in-charge. Musk couldn’t abide this and mouthed off one too many times.

      Me? I still very much admire BOTH men … and also can see each of their POV re: the BBB. Disagreements and debate are healthy in government. And neither of these men operate in the shadows like every last (D) and (R) admin. So their messy breakup was fully splashed across the internet.

      Meh. They’ll eventually reconcile.

        Just to let you know, the split between “technocrats” and “nativists” have been predicted since Trump was elected. It was, as you can see, predicted correctly, so people a lot more intelligent that you do not consider them reconcilable.

  6. Alright let’s get back to music. I have a favorite custom Pandora channel that I’ve set up based on Wishbone Ash … I know, I know … but it is my absolute favorite of all the Pandora curated channels I’ve created. I play it on my outdoor speakers in the rear yard when gardening and whatnot. Today I was planting three table grape plants that I am training onto my side yard fence in my ‘kitchen garden’ … and what tune gets served up but one of my favorite of all Rolling Stones tunes: Time Waits for No One. It was essentially Mick Taylor’s FINAL guitar work before he quit the Stones – for multiple reasons. One of those reasons was because Jagger never gave Taylor any co-writing credit … even for songs like this one that is essentially ALL Taylor’s sound and styling.

    Beautiful … simply beautiful. What an amazing solo. Building from a soft, lilting lyrical tune to an urgent rush of notes still melodically connected in a brilliant composition. What feel and flow.

  8. Here is a puzzler. My news feed popped out an announcement about federal government handouts to households, with prominent pics of Mark Carney and other Liberals looking generous and caring. The info consists of the standard stuff one could get at the local Service Canada office. This is the group putting out this information:

    I’m suspicious of this group, from a quick scan of the site. For one thing, reading the “about us” section shows plenty of chest-thumping about the site bring supposedly independed, truthful, and all that. But completely absent is any info about the organization running the site or the people behind it. Then there is the contact email address: bobbybad6969 leading to Gmail. The address sounds like something a15-year-old boy would dream up, and note the lewd reference.

    So what’s troubling is that this shows up prominently on the Google newsfeed.

    There is a group called the Canadian Cultural Harmony Association, a new “cultural” group formed last year. I have jot found any links with this group and the above web site. But the terms “cultural” and “harmony”, when used together, often turn up with Chinese associations.     My theory is that the first link above is run by a China front group pushingbthe free government money propaganda, in order to support the federal Liberal Party. But I cannot find hard evidence. SDAers with time on their hands might want to do some sleuthing.

    Seriously? You can’t hit a stop light without fondling your phone?

    2. Why no police action for my own pet First World Problem peeve … screen time in automobiles. So let me get this right … you can’t touch your phone … but you can touch the giant screen on your dashboard?

      I have grown sick and tired of sitting behind cars that never move when the light turns green … because they are fiddling with their giant touchscreens and not paying attention to the stoplight. I have to honk my horn now about 50% of all green light queues to WAKE UP the touchscreen fiddlers.
