    1. They may be generally the lowest paying jobs but each area has the very same exception, that is if your goal is to become a tenured university professor teaching those areas to the next round of suckers! 🙁

        1. So how bad was the expansion of the size of the administration during your years?

          You didn’t comment on those careers.

          While I think that there is nothing wrong with English Literature or History, and they are important for understanding our “culture”, don’t expect to get rich off of those, they are hopefully to improve the student and are not to improve their incomes.

          As for those majoring in “studies”, like “Gender Studies”, “Labour Studies”, et cetera, take up a hobby instead.

          1. As professors, we have complained about the expanding bureaucracy, which at the University of New Brunswick was even worse than elsewhere. We have had DEI problems, but the university is top-heavy with a concentration in STEM education (we are the STEM centre for graduate teaching the Maritimes), and those students tend to be non-political. I was known in the media as a “conservative activist”, but I had no problems with working at the university.
